The Diaz challenge

I have a challenge for the North County Times, Jerry Brown, Gloria Allred and all the liberal champions of the "little guy": One month from today, after the election, tell us the fate of Nicky Diaz Santillan.

Will the state's attorney general, Jerry Brown, do his sworn duty and have her indicted and jailed for falsifying a California driver's license? If he can't do that, are we to believe any other oath that he might take?

Will Nicky still be in California or deported? Will ICE be notified? Will Gloria Allred use the stolen Social Security number and pay Nicky $23 an hour? Will Nicky's next lawyer tell her about the Fifth Amendment and self-incrimination (illegal entry, false documents, identity theft, perjury) before putting her in front of the cameras? Will the liberal champions of the little guy pay unemployed-for-17-months Nicky's legal bills? Will anyone give her a job? Will the taxpayers of California be supporting Nicky?

When Nicky is no longer useful to the Democratic cause, will she be discarded and ignored? Will any of them have the decency to remember Ms. Diaz Santillan's name? Will the North County Times follow up on this story?
