CORNYN OFFERS AMENDMENT TO ENSURE THE PRESIDENT STRENGTHENS BORDER SECURITY


WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas) today spoke on the Senate floor and filed an amendment to the supplemental appropriations bill, which will help the President maintain his commitment to strengthening border security and provide resources desperately needed to secure the border. The amendment will not add to the deficit because the costs are fully offset by using unspent stimulus funds.

Cornyn was on Meet The Press Sunday and although he is pushing for Border Security he hem & hawed when asked about Amnesty.

Put Sheriff Joe in Charge of building the detention ctrs too.

That is a start. But in my opinion the best way to secure our borders would be to give the United States Military 100% authorization to handle border security, let our Generals and professional military handle it with 100% backing, and authorize use of deadly force.

Then our borders really would become secure for certain!

The United States Military is 100% capable of securing our border against invasion by illegals.

Double layered fence is good MW. But do you realize that an M1A Abrams battle tank can hit a target square on with 120 mm ordinance at 2,500 meters while moving at 48.3 km/h off road? NOW THAT IS BORDER SECURITY!

Something tells me that you'll never get the American public to buy off on stopping illegal immigration with tanks.

I wonder if some non-working civil war cannons placed strategically along the border would serve to deter illegal immigration? We may be able to get the American public to support that. However, I seriously doubt the liberals in Congress would.

cuz too many of them are hispanic and want the open borders for their "kind" of people
