Um... what?
A group of Mexican lawmakers visiting Arizona will hold a meeting to hear locals’ views on a controversial immigration law the state passed last month, Mexico’s Senate said Monday.
The delegation of senators arrived in the southwestern state bordering Mexico on Sunday and said they plan to raise some of what they deem the most objectionable aspects of the new law with their US counterparts in Congress.
Mexico’s Senate said the lawmakers also plan to meet with Mexican consular officials in Arizona to plan out a joint strategy with Mexico’s government on how to cope with US immigration policies.
President Obama, I know you're busy avoiding the Gulf oil spill and all, but did you know that foreign legislators are entering your country to determine how to change our laws? Did you approve this unprecendented meddling by foreign agents? Did you encourage it?
(And why did I have to read about this in a Canadian newspaper, rather than one of our domestic broadsheets?)
