Bill to kill HIV ban to be introduced

The United States has one of the harshest immigration policies in the world where HIV-positive individuals are concerned. In general, an HIV-positive foreign national is not permitted to immigrate (permanently reside) in the United States, or even visit here, unless he or she qualifies for a very narrowly defined waiver. Immigration Equality believes that the “HIV banâ€

NO. WE CANT REALLY DO THIS. WE ALREADY HAVE OUR OWN HIV POSITIVE PEOPLE TO TAKE CARE OF. TREATMENT IS EXPENSIVE. LETTING IN MORE PEOPLE WITH HIV WILL DEPLETE RESOURCES FOR CITIZENS ALREADY NEEDING CARE. HIV PEOPLE FROM OTHER COUNTRIES SHOULD BE HELPED BY THEIR COUNTRY OF ORIGIN. THIS IS NOT FAIR TO OUR CITIZENS WHO NEED CARE.

HIV treatments cost money that our country cannot afford. We don't have any money. Bush is running the country and the iraq war with credit cards issued by red china.

And let's be honest, can we really trust that everyone with HIV will be moral enough not to infect others. Our own HIV+ population can't seem to keep their pants on and/or use their own needles for illegal drugs, so how can we expect the rest of the world to.

I agree. We can't take care of theirs at the expense of ours.

I thought I read an article similar to this one on ALIPAC, BUT but I couldn't find it:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/17/world ... a7&ei=5070

Of course illegal Mexicans don't get HIV here and carry it back home to Mexico like the article states. But they do have a lifestyle that would make them more prone to the illness. They have unprotected sex with many sexual partners, and their sanitation habits are gross.
AIDS would spread like wildfire if Barbara Lee gets this bill passed. My God, doesn't ANYONE think about consequences before even suggesting such a bill?
