Darren Mack Murder Suspect Fugitive in Mexico

CRIME NOTE: Darren Mack, the alleged murderer of his wife in Reno, NV (Sen. Reid D-NV) is in Mexico.

He reneged on his offer to turn himself in this morning. I dashed off a quick note to Sen. Reid saying that if Mexico really is our friend (ahem), they'll find him and turn him over to us unconditionally.

Something tells me though that Sen. Reid is not going to make such a request of Vicente Fox. But hey, if Mexico likes our criminals illegally immigrating into their country, then what a sweetly dysfunctional gesture of reciprocation.

Or end my sentence in a better way; please post your alternative description.
"But hey, if Mexico likes our criminals illegally immigrating into their country, then what a _______________."

Please, no invective, just invention. Smart is highly interesting to friends and foe.

Mexico will turn him over if they catch him, it's THEIR citizens who are wanted for murder that we have the problem with.

When they do it's always done with a condition: no death sentence. In order to catch THEIR citizens who commit crimes here, we need to unshackle the police and compel them to conduct the investigation so it reveals all the facts about the suspect, including if they are here illegally.

Have you heard about Chicago and LA? Mayor Rybak of Chicago and Mayor Villaraigosa of LA do not want to catch criminals if they happen to be here illegally - they have special dispensation. Their police departments either are muzzled or the police themselves believe they should not ask a suspect if they are here legally. They claim that asking will cast a chill over the people and make them stay silent.

To which I reply that all people do that now. People in general resist signing statements, resist being witnesses, resist speaking up. Most especially if they are asked to swear a statement against a gangsta' who lives down the block. People here illegally don't want the police near them under all circumstances, whether they're victims or not. So I find the argument against the police helping other law enforcement agencies to enforce the law to be flaccid.

Yes, I said flaccid. I won't take it back.
    :P

SERIOUS NOTE: When I speak about My Soldiers dying and being dismembered in Iraq and Afghanistan, I don't mean it to sound like I think we should pull out, or anything of the kind. No one has said anything to me about it, but, as usual, I read my own stuff later, and I think yipes, that could sound the exact opposite of what I actually mean.

    Anyway....
