The program work permits will all have expired by March 2019, according to an article I or someone posted a few weeks ago. No one can sign up under the 2014 Expanded DACA or the DAPA program. Those were stalled by the court injunction in the lawsuit filed by the 26 states almost 2 years ago that was upheld by the US Supreme Court Tie that meant the 5th Circuit Court of Appeal Ruling in favor of Hanen's injunction that stopped the Expanded DACA and DAPA program, that expanded the hundreds of thousands eligible under the 2012 criteria to over 5 million. The 2012 DACA's the last time I checked a couple of weeks ago was 869,000. Some will expire this year, most expire next year and few expire in 2019. It was my read of that article that by March of 2019, there will be no more DACA's and the whole thing is over by its own terms.

They are confused. Trump will never renew DACA. They are mistaken about that. The question is whether he will use a MEMO or EO to reverse it which means stopping it now instead of in June. I don't believe without a court ruling, he can recall the work permits already issued. If he does nothing the program ends in June of this year and all possible applications and renewals expire in March of 2019. He could try to stop it now and not let any more applications be taken or approve those that are taken.

There are 48 lawsuits against Trump and the government already filed for his EO to reverse green cards and visas issued to people from 7 terrorist countries. A federal appeals court has affirmed Judge Robart's ruling that the President didn't have the right to do that. Right or wrong, the court stopped him from trying to stop the immigration. Same thing would happen 100 times over if he messes with DACA. Universities will file suits, employers will file suits, states and cities will file suits. It's not worth it. That's why the trend seems to be to let it expire. There's no chance at all that any of the cases that would be filed would be resolved before June. There's also no chance in my mind that a liberal pro-immigration circuit court or court of appeals would not rule against Trump. Our court system has never been our friend. Even the Hanen Ruling that stopped Expanded DACA 2014 and DAPA had nothing to do with the merits of the case, it was a technicality on the Obama Administration failing to provide proper public notice for the required time frame in the Federal Register.

It's a mess. Not because of Trump because of our court system and it's eternal support of illegal aliens and immigrants instead of American Citizens.

This is how I'm looking at it, right or wrong, there's over 30 million illegal aliens in the United States. If Trump focuses on deporting the other 29 million plus who are not 2012 DACA's, there will be enough overlap onto the DACA's, that by the time he's finished with the priorities, there will be no reason to do anything for the rest of them. That would be up to Congress and they're not going to do it. The House of Representatives will never agree to it.

There are plenty of sneaks in Congress, but we stopped the Dream Act through the House, we stopped Amnesty through the House, the House has never been more revved up than it is now to stop this madness.
Hmm, let's see, where to start? Well, first off DAPA is a non-issue. It was killed by the courts as you know, which means there is no reason to continue discussing it.

As for DACA, you, just like everyone else is speculating. However, your speculations seem like an extreme stretch because Trump could have ended DACA on day 1 like he promised during his campaign. A new President can, without challenge, legally rescind at will any or all executive orders signed by a former President. Someone like Rince Priebus (sp?), Sen. Schumer, Obama or all three have obviously convinced him not to end DACA until there was a plan in place to legalize the illegals in the program. All that is required to immediately stop taking applications for the program is a memo from Secretary Kelly of DHS to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. That's it, a simple memo from Kelly is all it would take.

As for renewing DACA. That won't be necessary because Trump expects to see a bill on his desk before the program renewal date comes up. I've heard of two bills being worked up that would do exactly that. Currently Sen. Tillis is working on a comprehensive immigration reform bill that addresses DACA and I've also heard Sen. Graham is currently working on a bill to legalize the illegals in DACA. He may be working with Sen. Durbin on that bill.

Last, but not least, please don't think for a minute we can depend on the U.S. House of Representatives to stop an amnesty bill for those in DACA this time around. We're currently in a situation that we weren't in the first two times the Dream Act came up for a vote. This time around House and Senate leadership support it and President Trump wants it. Honestly, I do think we can squeeze the votes out of the U.S. House of Representatives to stop a comprehensive immigration (amnesty) bill, but stopping another Dream Act bill would be another story.
