Thread: Border patrol on Foxnews says

He said he welcomes the guards, but then another says that the guard will probably building the fences and that the guards will be sent down there, on their 2 week summer exercises.

That is what happened a couple of years ago, they sent my husband's group for their 2 week summer camp to work on the fence.

So it's going to be rotating....

If thats the case it will never get finished.

I'm sure they will be of some help, but very little. They can't apprehend or detain illegals and we already know that there are not enough BP's to take care of the situation. Aren't these guys in the National Guard going to be doing bascially the same thing the MM have been doing? Does NutBush think they are "vigilantes", too? He should, after all they ARE going to be doing nothing different than the MM do, right? Just watching for illegals and calling the BP to report activity?

If they aren't going to let the guard capture and detain these illegals why have them there building fences? Detain the ones they catch and make THEM build the fences! I am disgusted that our guard will not be impowered to do what would have the most impact........They will already be better trained, in a lot of ways, then the border patrol. Let them do whatever is needed to catch these people AND train the local law enforcement officers. If you wait on Bush's group to decided who, how and when those officers will be trained another 25 million will sneek across. GOD HELP US!

Vincente Bush said additional border resources won't be available until 2008 and this bozo thinks a 6000 Guard contingent playing tiddly winks will solve the problem until then. He won't let the guard perform in an interdiction role as I am sure after that call from his brother in Mexico City, Bush didn't want to offend him.
