No... I'm currently visiting since the USCIS is taking their sweet time dealing with my paperwork and processing hispanics before me who applied after me... Go figure... Anyways as soon as I get my green card I'm going into the military and when I get out I'm planning on being an ICE agent. I want to become and agent to get back at all these stupid people who screwed me over since I was 15 years old.

Age Factor and the Border Patrol.

    Hello, Im Shay.

Im 18 years old and currently in process with the United States Border Patrol.
In regards to your concern about your age disqualifying you. It is not because the Border Patrol thinks that all men and women over 39 are not physically capable of the job, but in order to qualify for the law enforcement officer retirement program, you must be under 40 years of age. Hope that this helps.

If you work for one law enforcement agnecy you should be able to transfer the pension money to another. This could help get trained law enforcemnt people from other agancies even temporarily to help with the understaffing. These people would need less training in some areas which would save time and money. Once the new recruits are trained then the others can stay on or go back to their agency. I know Miami Dade Police will take you back if it is a year or less.

There is another disqualifcation factor not stated. If you failed to register with the selective service at age 18. I bet that alone just disqualified 75% of the population. You can even get your old registration # (from 1959 to current) at the SS website.

as Rohrabacher said in his judiciary comment yesterday that one who wanted to work for the border patrol changed his mind because of this

I thought I remembered reading another BP agent's account that said he and alot of others gave up with the agency because they joined to protect the borders and there were more laws against protecting it than there were for them to do the job they came to do. I also remember him stating that there was a maximum quota of illegals you were aloud to stop and the quota would be filled in a very short time. The rest of the day he would watch them walk on by.
Any ex or current agents on here to testify to this ???????
