Border is a poignant, shocking and humorous documentary about the lives of those caught up in the ongoing tragedy of illegal immigration along America's southern border with Mexico. Burgard goes where no documentarian has gone before, including into the border no-man's-land where he risks his life to capture incredible footage of illegal crossings by armed drug runners, human smugglers and migrants themselves.

Border is also a compassionate film about the terrible toll these illegal crossings take on migrants themselves, and on largely defenseless border communities. Border is also the most comprehensive documentary yet on the phenomenon of the Minute Men, their motivation and impact on the struggle to secure America's border.

Please note: This is a different film from "Border War", made by different filmmakers.

Chris Burgard came to our Immigration Conference this month to show the movie. I highly recommend seeing it. He managed to work in humor, pathos, information, and spur the viewer to action in one film.

I was almost holding my breath during one scene where he and his cameraman where filming border crossings at the dead of night in a 'no-contact zone.' It was filmed in eerie night vision. This will worry you... When he spoke to us he mentioned one crossing with two civilians and many armed guards -who might they have been??? Shudder. Also, you have these ranchers on 1000 acre plots who are afraid to let their wives take a walk because of the dangerous drug mule trains and such. In America?!

The last five minutes make you VERY proud to be an American. You'll see what I mean...
