The battle appears lost, but only on paper
their victory, seemingly won, as thin as a wafer
the border its stands, as a line in the sand
one that defines, what we hold in our hands
our efforts, it seems, are beyond any creed
to defend what we revere, and our freedom feed
what from your Country, do you think you need?
to honor our contract, in word and in deed

those that come here in manner illegal
cannot be the reason for our leaders finagle
they act on an instinct, that we all possess
to move on with their life, away from the mess
so putting the blame, on those who it deserve
should be all our jobs, though the TRUTH may unnerve

What then to do if mayhap, the efforts all fail?
to run from the changes, from future we quail?
No, not yet, the land is yet ours
just need to claim it, from those gone too far
everyone fighting will need some free break
to relearn the reason, not freedom forsake

It has been on for decades, we have only just seen it
lady liberty been tricked out, her virtue, no asset
as the waves wash inexorably, upon her isle shore
her mate the Constitution, is turned to a whore
the outrage that give us, impetus to fight
shall lead all the way, in its quiescent might

So faith, to fight for what preserves us, without pause
Truth, Liberty, Equality, not just words, they define cause
and as well, more defined, our outstanding reason
that has moved with our Nation, irrespective of season
this time, the now, as important as any
count yourself lucky, as FREE, unlike many.
