BREAKING: Veterans Launch Mass Boycott of Mexico to Free US Marine

Marine Sergeant Andrew Tahmooressi has been confined to a Mexican jail cell for almost three months, and the Obama administration either cannot or will not do anything about it. Apparently, “we leave no one behind” applies to only to accused deserters in Afghanistan, not active duty service members in Mexico. (And don’t even ask about Libya.)
Not surprisingly, the sergeant’s mother is fighting for her son’s return even as the White House ignores her. Other calls for Tahmooressi’s return have come from supporters as diverse as Bill O’Reilly, Dr. Ben Carson, Congressman Matt Salmon, and a biker group known as Riders USA.
Now VFW National Commander-in-Chief William A. Thien says the time has come for American citizens to put their own economic pressure on Mexico to obtain Tahmooressi’s release.

From The Washington Times, quoting Thien:
“This is about politics, and if my government won’t do anything, then I guess we need to let the power of the purse take over. No products, no travel, a total boycott … then maybe a dialogue will start.”
Other veterans groups are applauding the VFW’s bold decision and are urging their supporters to do the same.
“We applaud the VFW for their efforts to ensure the timely and safe return of Marine Sgt. Tahmooressi,” said Pete Hegseth, CEO of Concerned Veterans for America. “It’s a pretty stark statement that our friends at the VFW think that this is what it will take to bring him home. One thing is for certain: President Obama has done more in the past few weeks to release the leadership of the Taliban from Gitmo than he has to ensure the safe return of Sgt. Tahmooressi. This is an outrage and a slight that the veterans we represent nationwide will not forget.”
Frankly, it’s a shame that we’ve come to this. Tahmooressi apparently broke Mexican law, but just as apparently did so by mistake. Does Mexican law enforcement actually believe that he brought legally registered firearms into the country to sell illegally? If he faces a fair trial, let’s get it over with and get him home. If he does not, then we should be applying the maximum diplomatic pressure available to get him home sooner.
The VFW boycott may or may not have any effect, or its only effect might be on ordinary, hardworking Mexicans as opposed to the politicians making decisions about Tahmooressi, as critics of the boycott contend. Only time will tell. But that’s not really the point. The point is that if President Obama would simply do his job, the boycott wouldn’t have become necessary in the first place.
Come on, Mister President. With all the people currently crossing the border from Mexico into the United States, what’s one more gonna hurt?
Please share this article on Facebook and Twitter if you support a boycott of Mexico and Mexican products until Marine Sergeant Tahmooressi is released and returned to the United States.

I won't buy so much as a single tomato that comes from Mexico.
