Brewer Unveils Border Security Plan - 04/22/10
Brewer unveils Border Security Plan
April 22, 2010
The federal government has failed in its obligation and moral responsibility to secure our border. Since taking office a year ago, Governor Brewer has demanded action and received few answers. As a result, the Governor, joined by her Border Security Cabinet, unveiled her comprehensive Arizona Border Security Plan today.
Brewer’s detailed plan to ensure and promote safety for our citizens along our southern border includes National Guard actions, increased surveillance and patrolling, as well as $10 million in support of local law enforcement in the Arizona border region.
The Border Security Enhancement Program will provide flexible grants designed to allow local and tribal law enforcement to propose ways to augment existing border security efforts. Click here to read the entire plan.
Brewer’s border security plan is the latest display of the Governor’s continued commitment to fighting illegal immigration.
