    c-span just started 1:00 EST

Reid of Nevada is starting off with the usual sob stories. Will someone please put this man on an ice floe like the Eskimos do?

Senator Feinstein is introducing a new amendment for a "Orange Card", for a faster way toward "Earned Citizenship". And she has 100 signatures from some Hispanic Caucus group, plus over 100 business co-sponsors (I think).
Why are they bending over backwards to please hispanics. Do Americans count anymore?

passing a criminal and personal background check, must demonstrate knowledge of English and American History, must pay back taxes, must pay $2000 find to help defray costs of administration....and this is just to get her "orange card." There were further requirements to be eligible for green card (including annual fee, annual reporting requirements, must have employment....) If we MUST endure legalizing these aliens, this actually has some initial appeal (I would need to know all the details before formulating a more solid opinion).

Iowans are lucky to have Grassley when it comes to this illegal immigration issue. While I considered what Feinstein had to offer at least better than the Hagel-Martinez proposal, I like what Grassley has to say even more right now on C-Span! Of course he has only addressed his criticisms so far of Feinstein's proposal. I haven't heard his solution yet.

I love Grassley's repeated use of the term illegal aliens and how most of the proposals on the amnesty bill do not pass the common sense test. He is right they do not. There is no way they can do or track all of the items in this proposal. What I wonder is what the look is on the faces of those who are for amnesty while listening to Grassley or Sessions make them look like the idiots they are
Freedom isn't free... Don't forget the men who died and gave that right to all of us....
