OK, LOOKS LIKE A DEMONCRAT ADDED AMENDMENT #7.
This stupid bill is the gov't's bailout of the subprime mess created by lending institutions. This is the same cockamamie bailout that Glenn Beck is against. The lending insitutions should be ALLOWED TO FAIL AND GO BANKRUPT instead of US taxpayers paying for it.
I think the bill is asking for $15 BILLION -- YES, WITH A B!!!PRESS 1 FOR ENGLISH. PRESS 2 FOR DEPORTATION.

C span now
This bail out bill will do nothing to stop greedy banks and real estate speculators from doing the same risky business again. Who is responsible for the foreclosure mess? Not me. I have lived in the same home for 26 years. We resisted the urge to "move up" when rates were low and we could have qualified for a larger home in a better neighborhood.
Where is the help for those of us who are financially responsible? Why do WE have to bail out all the subprime loan makers?
I knew this would happen. Just like the Savings and Loan bailout in the 1980's. Why don't these banks face strict regulation against writing loans for those with risky credit? Why does our federal government allow so many of these risky loans that our national economy crashes?
If I make a bad investment, I lose money. That truth helps me to steer away from bad investments. Investment banks and companies should face the same fear of loss.
Have the Interest Only loans been outlawed? If a person has bad or questionable credit, are they "entitled" to a mortgage loan?
I don't like this bail out. It is unfair to those who pay their mortgages each month, while cutting back on other needs.
All the breaks in this bill go to the very people who created the mess.
