CA Senate Passes Bill Permitting Non-Citizen Poll Workers

CA Senate Passes Bill Permitting Non-Citizen Poll Workers

    Thursday, July 11, 2013

On Monday, the Californian State Senate passed legislation AB817 that would allow non-citizens to help voters when they cast their ballots. Assemblyman Rob Bonta, D-Alameda sponsored the bill, which would permit as many as five permanent residents who entered the U.S. legally to help voters at polling places.
Sen. Norma Torres, D-Pomona, who placed Bonta’s bill before the Senate, said that the non-citizens could help the 2.6 million Californians whose English skills are limited: “These individuals have the absolute right to make fully informed voting decisions on Election Day,” she said.

So now they're openly advertising voting "help" for "legally registered" non-English speaking voters? They only lack signage saying "Illegals Vote Here"! CA is winning the race to wipe out America as we know it. What happened to the law regarding not electioneering within 100 feet of a polling place? Whoops! Do we now need to hire translators to make sure these NON-CITIZEN poll workers are not electioneering in Spanish or one of the more than 70 languages spoken in the state?

This is so stupid. We give them literature in Spanish and other languages. Their ballots are in their language. Like the rest of us they should study the literature at home, fill out their sample ballots and be prepared to vote. There is absolutely no reason that anyone should not be prepared or need help at polling places. This is not a pop quiz

Just imagine the "unbiased" help they will receive?!

I worked as a poll worker...In reality the poll workers hands are tied by the time they call the representative to come and review a problem it is a very long wait. Unless and only unless the representative is there when the voting issue is found it ends up being the poll workers word against the polling places word...
