Calderon speaks to Mexican migrants in Chicago

    TRANSLATED FROM:

    Tuesday, February 12

The danger in the border is organized crime, not the Mexicans.

The Mexican leader defends the work and the contributions carried out by Mexicans in the U.S.

President Felipe Calderon Hinojosa pressed to give more certainty to the migrant Mexicans that work in this country, to stop the harassment against them and to that their labor contributions be recognized.

He reiterated that "Mexico is committed to have a secure border with United States, but we should not be mistaken", and notified that in the that zone the danger is not from the Mexicans, but from organized crime.

"The danger does not come from Mexicans, they are neither a problem for the national security in this case, of the United States, neither for Mexico, it is organized crime and not the migrant Mexicans", he added.

During a lunch with the main common leaders and organizations of migrants in the framework of their first work visit to this country, the Mexican leader defended his countrymen that come to this country to work and to contribute.

So "we cannot make a mistake in that area", said the president and reiterated his position that the border wall is not an answer to diminishing the migratory phenomenon.

"To reduce immigration , it would be more effective to build one kilometer of road in Michoacán or in Zacatecas than 10 or 20 kilometers in Texas or Arizona", emphasized among applauses.

He was accompanied by the governors of Zacatecas, Amalia Garcia; of Guanajuato, Juan Manuel Olive, and of Colima, Silverio Cavazos, Calderon insisted that immigration is a natural phenomenon and even part of the complement of both economies.

He specified that the position of his government with respect to the migrant Mexicans also consists in promoting that their cultural, social, and economic contributions to this country be recognized.

NO "work or contributions" by ANY foreigner COUNTS if he is an ILLEGAL! Calderon simply REFUSES to RECOGNIZE that!

Seriously I ask...has there ever been an important time in American history where they weren't considered valid and important? Valid and important doesn't mean shoved down my throat. What do you want? When is enough enough? When it's 100% latino? FORGET IT!!!!!!!!!
