You can buy a drivers license on the streets of Los Angeles for $40 and that makes you a citizen. Get a ticket and you can replace it for $40 and ...never get a ticket because the other person is ...gone... when you threw the drivers license away and bought a new one.

We don't know how many illegal aliens are in Los Angeles, but 40% of the jobs in that city are paid under the table: taxes are not collected and there-in, we have some notion of home many illegal aliens are in that place: Enough to elect Villagorsa!

And as things are now happening, it is a good chance exactly that sort of thing will happen in places like Denver, Huston, many of the larger towns in Nebraska, and along the border. And, in part, THAT is what this board is all about!

Villaraigosa won on part because of the apathy of the voters for either candidate, and a split of the white and black support of the former mayor Hahn. Many simply didn't even bother to show up to vote on election day.

I think only about 1/3 of the registered voters turned out for this one, and some of the media claimed the election demonstrated how the Latino voting block was starting to flex its power in Los Angeles. I did hear, to no surprise, that Villaraigosa got 84% of the hispanic vote. James Hahn probably would have won re-election to a second term if he wasn't such a weakling and wimp as mayor.
