    Boycott Bilingual Businesses

I would like to gauge interest in promoting boycotting businesses, primarily chain stores, that use spanish in their stores and/or on their products. Companies that I myself will not give my business to are:

    Wal-Mart
    Home Depot
    Lowe's
    CVS
    IHOP

The places that I DO support are:

    Target
    Henry's Market
    Trader Joe's
Ace Hardware (Ace does have spanish on their product but not on the signs in the stores. I have not found a hardware store in my area that has no spanish)

I would love to hear anyone's comments, questions, businesses they support or don't, etc.

I agree. I also try to buy only American made products. If we support our companies, maybe we could get more manufacturing here.

    >mind, read the following, obviously written by a good American ..

    > Check this out . I can verify this because I was in Lowes the other day for some
    >reason and just for the heck of it I was looking at the hose attachments . They
    >were all made in China . The next day I was in Ace Hardware and just for the heck
    >of it I checked the hose attachments there.
    >They were made in USA . Start looking ..

    >was an off-brand labeled, "Everyday Value . " I picked up both types
    >of bulbs and compared the stats - they were the same except
    >for the price .. The GE bulbs were more money than the Everyday Value brand but
    >the thing that surprised me the most was the fact that GE was made in MEXICO and
    >the Everyday Value brand was made in - get ready for this - the USA in a company in Cleveland

    >
    > So on to another aisle - Bounce Dryer Sheets . ... . yep, you guessed it, bounce
    >cost more money and is made in Canada . The Everyday Value brand was less money
    >and MADE IN THE USA ! I did laundry yesterday and the dryer sheets performed just
    >like the Bounce Free I have been using for years and at

If everyone did their part and tried as much as possible to buy American, it would indeed make a difference. I try to do this on a daily basis, with purchases of all sizes. It takes a little extra effort, but I feel better as a person, and as an American.
The people in charge of companies that outsource believe that:
    A. Consumers/workers are just too stupid to connect the dots between purchasing outsourced products and job losses, both locally and nationally.
    B. That even if consumers start to realize this, not enough of them will act on their convictions to cause a significant drop in their almighty profits.
The only [non-violent] means we have to stop outsourcing, which will be the death of this country, is through our choice of purchasing.
If we do not protect ourselves by buying domestically made products and services, this house of cards which has been created by the Harvard MBA crowd will eventually collapse, since no jobs leads to no money for discretionary spending, which leads to no purchases of even cheap ChiCom slave-labor produced garbage.
The Powers-That-Be are trying to offset this by importing tens of millions of new, mostly illegal, consumers, but this will not be enough to stop severe economic stagnation.
The fact that the feds are trying to stop deflation, which is good for consumers, who are burned-out from fighting a never-ending, greed-induced inflationary cycle, proves that their leash holders care absolutely nothing about human suffering, and only care about unrestrained profits.
As I have said in previous posts, I strongly believe in the capitalist system, but this modern, world-wide “company storeâ€

I have been fairly conscience about buying American made products for several years but, not until the last 5 years or so have I noticed that some stores, Wal-Mart being the worst offender, really cater to the spanish speaking customer. Just recently did I decide to not give stores like that my business. If a significant portion of the population can stop frequenting these types of businesses AND focus on buying American made products as well, maybe positive changes will be made like with the November elections.
