Our local ICE office is barely one mile away from the part of town where most day laborers hang out and where our city government has funded a day labor hiring hall. About half the day laborers will not use the hall, but still hang out on the sidewalk nearby--and don't charge the fee to contractors that the center charges.

Would the ICE agents accept a truck or van full of illegal aliens? I wonder what these folks do all day within their offices? Why could they not accept a drive-in contingent of illegals? I do intend to ask. It certainly isn't hard to convince a hungry day laborer (and friends) that you need help badly on a project. Has anybody ever thought of this strategy? Or perhaps you live close to one of ICE's detention centers. Why not help them get there sooner?
