House votes on Sunday, 24 hours left to defeat Obamacare!

March 20, 2010

Congress is in session all weekend - keep up the pressure!

The vote on the Senate health care bill is still scheduled for Sunday, March 21st.

Congress is open and staffed to answer calls all weekend ALL WEEKEND LONG, so keep up the heightened pressure on ALL DEMS - victory is within reach!

Because of your thousands of phone calls and emails to Capitol Hill and to district offices over the past week, Speaker Nancy Pelosi finally surrendered today on her "deem and pass" scheme to make Obamacare law without a vote.

This is a huge victory for the American people, but the fight isn't over yet!

Since the liberal congressional leaders will not pursue the "Slaughter Solution," the Senate Obamacare bill (H.R. 3590) will receive a direct up-or-down vote TOMORROW, Sunday, March 21st sometime after 1:00 pm Eastern. We need you to turn up the heat on the undecided Members of Congress over the next 24 hours!

Over the past few hours, we have learned that an attempt to reconcile abortion language between Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI) and Pelosi have fallen through, which means that Stupak and all pro-life Democrats should be expected to vote NO. However, reports indicate that Pelosi is attempting to pick off some votes among the Stupak coalition even though the Obamacare bill remains so pro-abortion that, if enacted into law, will result in the largest expansion of abortion services since Roe v. Wade (1973). As we mentioned before, the vote on the Senate bill amounts to a career-defining abortion vote, so any self-described pro-life Member of Congress who votes YES on this bill will no longer be able to refer to themselves as anti-abortion or credibly run on that campaign plank.

As the House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) said earlier today:
"This health care bill will ruin our country."

Please continue calling Washington, D.C. and district offices over the next 24 hours! If your calls stay persistent, we can beat back Pelosi's efforts to pick off the few remaining votes she needs!

TAKE ACTION NOW AND OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS!!!!
