Call Texas Sen. John Cornyn: NO CIR Amnesty

Texas Republican Senator John Cornyn announced that he believes "comprehensive immigration reform" (often used as code language for amnesty) "must be a top priority in 2009 for Congress." It's on his website now.

He stated during his recent reelection campaign that we have to start with enforcing the laws and securing the border to regain the trust of the American people. As we know the border is far from secure and laws are only sporadically enforced.

Please call him to let him know that now is NOT the time to be pushing "comprehensive reform" amnesty especially with 533,000 Americans losing their jobs in the last month alone, and 10 million Americans out of work. We need more enforcement.

    His DC number:

    202-224-2934

If DC number is busy, call his Houston number:

See this excerpt from another recent story:

Tina Gray, spokeswoman for Cornyn, said the senator thinks comprehensive immigration reform has to be a top priority for the 111th Congress. Cornyn is the senior Republican on the Senate immigration subcommittee.

Cornyn will push his colleagues to work on a bipartisan bill to tackle the issue, Gray said

Cornyn has always walked the fence - guess he finally fell off on the side of amnesty.

Of course he and all illegal alien advocates will tell you that comprehensive immigration reform isn't amnesty but we know better.

Exactly why I voted against him in the last election. He has a new lease on his office so his true colors are coming out in public. The Republican party still hasn't gotten the massage.

Let's keep on pressuring him; the most election was about the economy and there is no absolutely no mandate for any form of amnesty, especially now with millions of Americans losing their jobs.

If you have the chance, please e-mail him the very recent Rasmussen and Zogby polls that (again) show Americans overwhelmingly support enforcement over "legalization" schemes.
