Amnesty Double Talk Speech Part 4

    The Speech!

Fourth, we must face the reality that millions of illegal immigrants are already here. They should not be given an automatic path to citizenship. This is amnesty, and I oppose it. Amnesty would be unfair to those who are here lawfully, and it would invite further waves of illegal immigration.
All the above is true and we should agree with it.

Some in this country argue that the solution is to deport every illegal immigrant -- and that any proposal short of this amounts to amnesty. I disagree. Here is where it starts going bad. Enforce our laws!

It is neither wise nor realistic to round up millions of people, many with deep roots in the United States, and send them across the border. There is a rational middle ground between granting an automatic path to citizenship for every illegal immigrant, and a program of mass deportation. That middle ground recognizes that there are differences between an illegal immigrant who crossed the border recently and someone who has worked here for many years, and has a home, a family, and an otherwise clean record.
This whole concept is pretty unrealistic and hard to sort out. Very vague too. Anyone here prior to 2000 Amnesty can stay, anyone else has to go, anchor babies and all. Where do you draw the line and how do you truthful determine who has "roots".

I believe that illegal immigrants who have roots in our country and want to stay they all do! should have to pay a meaningful penalty for breaking the law, to pay their taxes, to learn English, and to work in a job for a number of years. People who meet these conditions should be able to apply for citizenship, but approval would not be automatic, and they will have to wait in line behind those who played by the rules and followed the law. What I have just described is not amnesty. It is a way for those who have broken the law to pay their debt to society, and demonstrate the character that makes a good citizen. Here is a flaw in this proposal. How are they going to stay in the country legally, while they do all this wonderful get my citizenship stuff? With a Visa? Do they just get to keep on doing what they have been doing. Squatting, until they learn English, pay a fine, pay back taxes, get in the back of the line... What exactly is a meaningful penalty? Not $2,000 in my book. Also, where will that money go? How crazy is that! 20 years later they become a citizen and have anchor grandchildren????

That's a good question, where are they going to be funneling that "meaningful penalty".

That just sounds like crazy talk to me. You know when little kids make up games and the rules are so outrageous that they end up in a fight because the rules are so vague or undefined.

Y'all help me out here. This whole concept just makes my head spin.

    Yup!

Since when did you expect any meaningful statement to come from drivel?

Comon!! -Our Emperor still hasn't proven his command of the English language, or ability to read!

It's like being "slighthly" pregnant, or "partially born", or "still born"!?! or "being decision maker and choosing (not?) to decide", or claiming victory, when there is no end to the battles, or to the war, or reading "My Pet Goat" picture books upside down! Someone with zero perspective has nothing to say. Why even listen?

I hope that cleared the confusion up!

    Thomas,

I know when I told my X I was going to watch Bush tonight, he asked, you can actually listen to that guy? I said, I will tonight so I can plan my counter attack. I know, it's like a one legged man in an A** Kiciking contest.
