Let's get the Senate to do something about immigration

Our country needs a new way to think about immigration. Too many lives, jobs, and families have been disrupted by our current immigration framework, which isn't working for anyone. Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) has been working to craft and introduce legislation that would reform our immigration system.

In an effort to recruit critical bipartisan support, Sen. Schumer is reaching out to Republican senators this week.

This is a perfect opportunity for you to call/email your senators and tell them how important it is to support this effort to change our immigration policy. Comprehensive Immigration Reform will keep families together, secure our borders, strengthen our economy, and protect American workers.

The current framework is just fine. The problem is enforcement. And which lives have been disrupted -- American citizens or illegal aliens?

Yeah...too many AMERICAN families have been devastated by our governments refusal to enforce immigration law! But the church is not talking about those AMERICANS now is it!

Our current lack of immigration enforcement is not working for this country and it's citizens! This should be the message. It's time like these that I find it embarrassing to call myself a Catholic....

Oh, so what you really want is amnesty. The Catholic Church keeps getting involved in politics and in the mean time keeps losing membership. Perhaps the Catholic Church's time could be better spent keeping an eye on it's own priests insuring they keep their hands off kids.
