RNC files four lawsuits over Clinton emails

The Republican National Committee has filed four more lawsuits under the Freedom of Information Act seeking information
related to Hillary Clinton's tenure as secretary of state, the party announced on Tuesday.
"Despite the State Department's responsibility under the law to comply with FOIA requests in a timely way, our requests
have gone unanswered for months," said RNC chair Reince Priebus, who added that the department was "running interference"
for the former secretary.
"These lawsuits are intended to expedite the release of records covered under FOIA that will allow Americans to hold Hillary Clinton
accountable," Priebus added.
The lawsuits were filed against both the State Department and the U.S. Agency for International Development, and seek to compel
the agencies to turn over information including communications between officials at USAID and State, documentation on training
that state officials received for handling classified materials, and visitor logs from Clinton's time as secretary.
It is the second consecutive week that the RNC has filed lawsuits in response to unanswered FOIA requests. The party filed two
separate suits against the State Department last week seeking to uncover communications that took place between the department
and Clinton's campaign staff, in addition to emails sent or received by Clinton and her aides at the department.
The six lawsuits pertain to separate FOIA requests the RNC submitted last year that all remain unsatisfied. Both the Justice Department
and the nonprofit Judicial Watch have also filed FOIA lawsuits seeking similar information.
Though a court-ordered release of 30,000 emails that Clinton sent or received as secretary of state concluded last month, the onslaught
of FOIA lawsuits indicates that the drama surrounding her management of classified information is far from over.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is still conducting its own investigation into the matter. This month, the Justice Department granted
immunity to Bryan Pagliano, a Clinton IT aide who helped to set up the server in the basement of her Chappaqua, N.Y., home. Sources
told Fox News last week that Pagliano has provided a range of new information to the FBI, including tangible evidence and technical
details surrounding the server.
