Cheap Labor?????
I received this email I thought my fellow ALIPAC members might enjoy:
-----Subject: Cheap Labor?????
This comes from a guy whose father retired from the United States Air
Force Academy and is very passionate about our country. Needless to say
he was very vocal about the immigration rallies last week.
In his own words...
Definitely something to think about........................
"The phrase "cheap labor" is a myth, a farce, and a lie. There is no
such thing as "cheap labor." Take, for example, an illegal Mexican who
sneaks in here with his wife and five children. He takes a job for five
or six dollars an hour. At that wage with six dependents he pays no
income tax, yet at the end of the year gets an "earned income credit"
of up to $3,200 free. He qualifies for Section 8 housing and subsidized
rent, food stamps, and free (no deductible, no co-pay) health care. His
children get free breakfasts and lunches at school, and require
bi-lingual teachers and books that taxpayers provide. He doesn't have
to worry about car insurance, life insurance, or homeowners insurance.
Taxpayers provide Spanish language signs, bulletins, and printed
material. He cannot be fired, harassed, or sued. He and his family
receive the equivalent of $20 to $30 an hour in benefits, while working
Americans are lucky to have $5 or $6 an hour left after paying their
bills and his, and paying for increased crime, graffitti, and trash
cleanup.

"Pays no income tax," does not mean doesn't file. As the pro-illegal mobs like to tout, there are illegals who file tax returns.

Yes, but the way they do this is by getting a federal tax id....the same id available to businesses...businesses don't get the EITC, individuals do.

Well, I'm no tax expert, this forum is not about income taxes, and I don't claim to know how exactly the illegals game the system, but I imagine the IRS distiguishes between a personal income tax filing with a tax ID number and a business filing with a tax ID number.
In other words, I imagine the illegal files a regular personal return and instead of using a Social Security number, as a citizen would, they fill in their tax ID number on that line. Then the IRS treats it as an ordinary personal income tax return, it's just that it has a TIN as opposed to a SS#.
