From the Desk of Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton

Dear Friend of Judicial Watch,

I have very important news! Judicial Watch is battling the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in court! In fact, we have a key hearing in court against them next week!

We are squaring off against the ACLU over one of the most critically important issues of our day: whether or not to secure our borders and our nation against illegal immigration.

ACLU lawyers are representing pro-illegal immigration groups and illegal immigrants in opposition to our lawsuit over Special Order 40. Our lawsuit seeks to force the Los Angeles Police Department to drop its politically-correct "sanctuary" policy and resume enforcing our nation's laws against illegal immigration.

With the help of the ACLU, these illegal immigrants want to be able to seek illegal work on street corners without fear of the police. Can you believe anyone would make such an argument in a court of law! Well, the ACLU did. And Judicial Watch will fight them!

Our lawsuit could result in a key courtroom showdown over the illegal immigration crisis.

Judicial Watch believes our immigration laws must be enforced, not ignored. We have taken the LAPD to court precisely because they have set themselves, through their Special Order 40, above the law. Special Order 40 actually forbids LA police officers from cooperating with federal immigration agents to apprehend and deport illegals!

The ACLU, on the other hand, cares nothing for the fact that we have laws on the books to regulate and control immigration into our country. The ACLU is all for "open borders." They believe the law should only be respected when it helps achieve their liberal political goals; Judicial Watch believes the law must always be respected..period!

That's why I'm writing you today.

The ACLU has very deep pockets! It counts some of America's wealthiest liberals, especially in the entertainment industry, among its contributors, members and supporters. It has the money to take on Judicial Watch literally from coast to coast, and to drag out our litigation through hugely expensive delaying tactics. Again, a key court hearing is scheduled for next Wednesday, September 20th.

Will you help me fight back by making a special emergency contribution to Judicial Watch for $25, $35, $50 or even $100? (If so, please visit, https://www.judicialwatch.org/authnet/donation.php )

Your generous help now is absolutely essential to our mission generally and will help us fight back against the ACLU next week and in the months ahead.

Thank you.

Thomas Fitton
President
