Chicagoland voting machine casts candidate’s vote for his Dem opponent

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – Admitting his confidence in Cook County ballot integrity is shaken, State Representative Candidate Jim Moynihan (R-56), was shocked today when he tried to cast a vote for himself and the voting machine cast it for his opponent instead.
“While early voting at the Schaumburg Public Library today, I tried to cast a vote for myself and instead it cast the vote for my opponent,” said Moynihan. “You could imagine my surprise as the same thing happened with a number of races when I tried to vote for a Republican and the machine registered a vote for a Democrat.”
While using a touch screen voting machine in Schaumburg, Moynihan voted for several races on the ballot, only to find that whenever he voted for a Republican candidate, the machine registered the vote for a Democrat in the same race. He notified the election judge at his polling place and demonstrated that it continued to cast a vote for the opposing candidate’s party. Moynihan was eventually allowed to vote for Republican candidates, including his own race. It is unknown if the machine in question (#008958 has been removed from service or is still in operation.
“Clearly, I am concerned that citizens will be unable to vote for the candidate of their choice, especially if they are in a hurry and do not double check their ballot,” added Moynihan. “I cannot say whether or not this was intentional, but Cook County voters deserve better and should not have their right to vote suppressed.”
The 56th District covers portions of Schaumburg, Bartlett, Elk Grove Village, Hoffman Estates, Hanover Park, Palatine, Rolling Meadows, and Roselle.

Republican candidate tries to vote for himself, machine switches his vote to a Democrat
October 21, 2014 by Carmine Sabia 185 Comments
Republican Illinois state House candidate Jim Moynihan was taken aback Monday when he intended to cast a vote for himself and the touch-screen voting machine instead cast a vote for a Democrat.
“While early voting at the Schaumburg Public Library today, I tried to cast a vote for myself and instead it cast the vote for my opponent,” Moynihan told the Illinois Review. “You could imagine my surprise as the same thing happened with a number of races when I tried to vote for a Republican and the machine registered a vote for a Democrat.”
Accordingly his faith in the balloting system of Cook County has been shaken, the Illinois Review reported.
While using the machine, Moynihan voted in various races on the ballot and noticed that whenever he voted for a Republican the machine registered a vote for the Democrat opponent. He alerted the election judge and demonstrated the error.
Eventually, Moynihan was allowed to vote for himself and other Republicans.
“Clearly, I am concerned that citizens will be unable to vote for the candidate of their choice, especially if they are in a hurry and do not double check their ballot,” Moynihan said. “I cannot say whether or not this was intentional, but Cook County voters deserve better and should not have their right to vote suppressed.”

Another SEIU voting machine maintenance contrast? Who "calibrated" the machines. Nothing like a lot of blame it on a computer glitch when the Democrats get caught trying to steal elections. JMO
Illinois Ballot Machine Changes Votes From Republican to Democrat
Katie Pavlich | Oct 23, 2014
As liberals and Democrats continue to argue voter fraud doesn't exist, voting machines in Cook County Illinois are changing votes for Republican candidates to votes for Democrats. More from Watchdog.org:
Early Voting in Illinois got off to its typical start Monday, as votes being cast for Republican candidates were transformed into votes for Democrats. So why is this happening? Officials are blaming the problem on a "calibration error" and promised changed votes weren't actually registered.
Republican state representative candidate Jim Moynihan went to vote Monday at the Schaumburg Public Library.
“I tried to cast a vote for myself and instead it cast the vote for my opponent,” Moynihan said. “You could imagine my surprise as the same thing happened with a number of races when I tried to vote for a Republican and the machine registered a vote for a Democrat.”
Cook County Clerk’s Office Deputy Communications Director Jim Scalzitti, told Illinois Watchdog, the machine was taken out of service and tested. This machine error was visible, what about the changes these machines are making to votes cast for Republicans that aren't visible? How many registered voters have had their votes and participation in the process stolen as a result of "faulty" machines?
“This was a calibration error of the touch-screen on the machine,” Scalzitti said. “When Mr. Moynihan used the touch-screen, it improperly assigned his votes due to improper calibration.”
When dead people in Illinois aren't voting for Democrats, machines are picking up the slack and stealing votes along the way.
Meanwhile in case you missed it yesterday, liberal activists in Colorado think it's "truly awesome" to illegally fill out discarded ballots in favor of Democrats so votes "are put to good use."
