Why is Donald Trump so eager to promote Governor Christie? At best he is a RINO. He is a supporter of illegal aliens. Any relationship between Donald Trump and Governor Christie can only reflect badly on Donald Trump.

TRENTONDonald Trump said Thursday that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is "high on the list" for a possible cabinet post should he be elected president — but that something may not be vice president, according to a report by the New York Post.

Unidentified political insiders say the top possibilities for Christie would be U.S. attorney general or White House chief of staff, the Post reported.

A Trump insider told the tabloid that attorney general is a natural position for Christie, a former U.S. attorney for New Jersey.

"He's the type of person who would be a great attorney general in a Trump administration," the source said, according to the report.

Is Christie being vetted to be Trump's VP?

Christie has been discussed as a possible running mate for Trump. But is he being vetted?

The source said there has also been talk in Trump's camp of Christie becoming chief of staff, the highest-ranking position in the White House.
Christie, a long-time friend of the billionaire businessman and of the former Atlantic City casino tycoon, is one of Trump's top advisers and the leader of his transition team. He has long been rumored to be in the running to become Trump's vice president or attorney general.
When Trump appeared on Hugh Hewitt's radio show Thursday, Hewitt suggested that either Christie or U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas should be his pick for vice president because of their experience fighting terrorism — Christie as a former federal prosecutor and Cotton as a former Army Ranger.
"I can't give you any clues or anything right now, because I do have a lot of respect for those two guys," Trump replied. "But I have a lot of respect for others also."
He added that Christie and Cotton are both "high on the list for something" in his administration.
But later in the day, Christie said he has not discussed getting a possible cabinet position with Trump.
"Donald and I have had no conversations about that at all," the governor said.
