East to West and the two shall meet.

Yo west coast. What up? You know we have to tie the nation together. West coast needs the east. The left coast needs the right.

    nomad

Hi William; As a general nomad, the trend I see is that the cities and metropolitan areas are the places where illegal immigration is having its biggest impact. This is where you can find the highest percentage of people that are either outraged at the giveaway of our numerous gifts of citizenship, or on the other end of the spectrum support II (illegal immigration), call them open borders globalists.

What is most interesting is that many common people cannot see the threat the immigration trend and outsourcing (husband and wife) is to their own existance, and preservation of their rights that they have materially paid for with their taxes. They know something is wrong, but they continue to look to the "authorities" as to what to think about all this. It is not uncommon for people decrying action against illegals as "racism" while their own jobs are falling to the very people they claim are being discriminated against. Only time and poverty will cure this group of their wrongheaded thinking. Generally they look at the law as something to be avoided, not followed.

In the countryside, 2 things are happening, the economies of many rural areas are so defunct, the arrival of illegals brings in greater monies to the communities in the form of government grants to service the "newcomers". Obviously the locals are going to provide the services, so they have few complaints. The flip side are those marginal wage people in old industires or jobs, that see illegals taking their places. They have no political clout or money and as far as I can see, nobody is listening.

The divide between east and west has a great deal to do with the traditions of each area. The east has been more stable, so any changes are far more noticable, especially to those who don't move. Out west people are always moving and transience is a way of life. The impact of II has not been as important as many people are not long term stake holders in their communties. One can see the willingness of many people of means to just pack up and leave when they can't deal with then changes anymore. Obviously this trend is now Nationwide as the impacts of what I call "poverty economics" have spread everywhere.

The west may not like what has occured but culturally hispanics have always lived there, at least in the southwest. In the east there is little experience with Latin culture and the changes it brings into older communties has been much more resisited.

In my view, if illegal immigration is to be sorted out the impetus will have to come from the eastern part of the country. The west, apart from the acceptance of the exploitative nature of II, is heavily dependent on Federal monies, so whatever the Feds will allow, the people simply take up as the "way it is" Their commitment to change is very much a function of how their behavior allows them access to the gravy train. This of course is a generalization, but given my own experience, there is very little outrage over II, with people adopting the if you can't beat 'em join 'em mentality.

It is no surprise that the most pernicious influx of illegal aliens is to states that have a weak union and labor rights tradition, as well as to those "right to work" States. Illegal immigration is the inevitable conclusion of the right to work interpretation of the labor-employer relationship. Clearly the collective bargaining strength of labor is strongest in the eastern part of the country. The exception out west would be the Pacific Northwest States, and that tradition is being dismantled as I write.

One of the most destructive aspects of II is how it puts working class Americans on the dole. The untrained American workforce is being subsidized to stay home, while unscrupulous businesses hire illegals to do the work that used to be their job. The effect is to pay for illegal labor twofold. Once in paying for social services for illegals and the legitimate employers paying more for unemployment co pays and all the rest of the illegals not so hidden costs (education, health care etc.etc.). Twice we pay in the form of subsidizing legal citizens(welfare, job retraining, food subsidies and other transfer payments) that cannot find a good job to pay for their life, due to the depressed wage scale brought about by illegal alien employment. Needless to say the "winners" are the illegal alien employers, who pay for nothing. They could "win" a trip to the penitentiary as far as I am concerned.

The east will have to expect to carry this fight at the Federal level by insisting of application of current law. Any help we get from the west will be helpful and essential, but the bulk of the effort in my view will have to be borne by the eastern half of the Nation. In my opinion. Fight on.

    cheers glenn

What can you guys do about your Senators on the east coast? The Senate is the big problem when trying to get the immigration laws enforced. Here in California, we have one Senator (Boxer), who basically supports giving California back to Mexico/Mexicans. I think Boxer is a born-again Communist. Our other Senator (Feinstein), is not as bad, but still has not come out for strict enforcement or stopping the anchor baby scam. Part of the problem is the large numer of Latinos in California have a large influence on the political parties. It has come to the point that we call the Latino Caucus in the California Legislature "Mexican Politicians". They do what is best for Mexico/Mexicans, not for Americans. Even worse, the State Assembly leader is a member of this caucus!

It is too late for our Senators, but maybe you can impress upon your Senators that their job, as defined by the Constitution, is to protect the US from foreign invasions and influence.

    time

It is going to take a little time to build political momentum back here on the east coast, it is starting to build. We don't have that much time, so in my view we are in a race for our lives and Nation. cheers glenn

If when talking to people they don't believe you or that time is critical, tell them to take a vacation to Los Angeles. And don't just go to Disneyland, but drive around the city on surface streets. You can't get a perspective of the invasion from the freeway.

Most of the East Coast and Midwest and South East are just now learning what this is all about and how bad it is and what it means for us all.
