    City-Data Forum?

How many of y'all are on that forum? I went on yesterday, in the Georgia forum to ask a question about someplace here, then poked around and found the immigration forum. I found alot of topics that are on here already

UGH! City-data!! Be careful with that place. I gave it a try several months ago and it became very obvious to me that there are ulterior motives involved. First, it's a 'for profit' site, and I don't want to spend my volunteer time for someone else to get rich on.

The other big concern is that "opinions" are often sales-pitches for people to move into one region or another. Info can be slanted, as we know. A lot of people get PMs from real estate agents, answering inquiries about a certain area.

Also, many of the Moderators (there is 1 Mod or more per State forum) are involved in real estate. Those Mods have a financial stake in promoting certain regions in the State they are trying to 'sell' to people who are looking to move.

I washed my hands of the deception. Caveat emptor!

Oh, thanks for the tip! I had stumbled on it a while back and kind of looked around. Then yesterday, I was trying to think of a name to a local place so I went there to ask. Then I stumbled on the immigration forum...anyplace to spread the word of this site, is a good thing!

The Immigration Forum is seperate from the relocation info. There are several very informed, very articulate posters there, in particular a woman who has an advanced degree in the study of Mesoamerican Indian cultures and can just blast holes in any and all 'Aztlan' type arguments until they look like swiss cheese. It is worth browsing.
