T minus 10 minutes (until scheduled vote), and counting...

The vote is scheduled to take place here shortly folks.

Sen Domenici is wrapping up (thank God, some people can talk a lot and say so little).

    Yielding the floor.

Also, just a reminder for everyone calling - please do continue calling even after things shut down in DC around 5pm local. You can still fill up the voice mails with messages, run out a few more faxes, and the take special care to contact your local Senator's offices as well. Those also are important - in some ways, maybe even more important at the present.

I'll post back the results from the vote right here - for anyone not online or monitoring on the Tube.

This vote may take some time if some of their YEA cloture votes have taken a walk! That is why it is important everyone keeps on calling, emailing, and faxing.

What exactly will they be voting on? Passage of the bill?

    kniggit,

No, just whether to close introductory comments and proceed to floor debate of the measure. But, remember, the trick in this is that 'the bill' is last year's S2611 offically. The current bill at some point, will be 'substituted into place' of old one - and viola! there's your immigration reform! (with much sarcasm)

I don't think this will have the votes for closure. At least if they enjoy there jobs.

I think it will go 53/47 or something like that.

cloture - The only procedure by which the Senate can vote to place a time limit on consideration of a bill or other matter, and thereby overcome a filibuster. Under the cloture rule (Rule XXII), the Senate may limit consideration of a pending matter to 30 additional hours, but only by vote of three-fifths of the full Senate, normally 60 votes.

Cool thanks folks - I could have done that I guess, but I guess I'm tired from all the keystrokes from the CSpan2 stuff....
