    Here come the Democrats....

GM announces another 30,000 job cuts....Home interest rates are going up...Greenspan warns the country on the trade deficit.......CAFTA is passed and FTAA is next.......the savings rate is nil.....more and more illegals come in everyday...health care costs continue to rise.......

The Republicans are set to be bounced out of office in both 2006 and 2008......not that it will change anythhing for the better....

Export jobs and import people...........makes good sense lol

No doubt you are right, Jack. But please, please, please don't let's replace them with Democrats. It is time to start scrutinizing those third parties and just start fresh.

WE MUST HAVE A THIRD PARTY that can WIN. The Republicans want to SELL US OUT and the Democrats want to GIVE US AWAY!

At this juncture it is almost impossible with the control of the media that the combined efforts of big business AIPAC and two party system have for a viable third party that can win.

Even the Reform party soled the Americans out in regards to illegal immigration in the last election. It is possible that that talons of our would be oppressors reach down much deeper than the two party system.
The constitution parties platform on immigration seemed to be the closet to the will of overwhelming majority, yet their platform was also too far right other issues to attract the vote of any real sizeable portion of the population other than the religious right.

Immigration is the most serious issue that is facing our nation, not only the peoples of the Southwest but the rest of our Nation as well. If we are to be successful in the electoral process it is imperative that Immigration be the issue to which decides the next elections of congress and of the presidency. Even then the Democrats and Republicans CANNOT be trusted on the issue, which will ultimately doom the American will of immigration reform to fail. This is why it is imperative that all of our borders are patrolled by civilian organizations like the minutemen who are not affiliated with ICE, or the border patrol.

I just don't agree that a VIABLE third party can't win an election. We just can't compare 2008 with PAST scenarios because the PEOPLE are FED UP with BOTH PARTIES. I agree with you on the Constitution Party. It was too far right for my liking as well. I have read some about the American Centrist Party that sounds good.

There are just SO MANY issues where both parties are failing us that I can't JUST look at one party's stance on immigration to form a decision. THAT is a MAJOR consideration but I have other criteria for choosing a candidate aside from immigration policy.

This PEOPLE of the US are NOT WAY OFF to the RIGHT NOR WAY OFF to the LEFT. MOST Americans would fall in the middle and NEITHER PARTY is representing the middle. That is exactly why I believe that a third party could very well win an election.

AmericaFirst, Welcome! I don't know that I've seen your posts before.

I understand what you are saying about the big money being behind the two major parties but I disagree that they can buy another Presidency. No matter how much money they throw at future campaigns, they still have the American people to contend with and the American people are fed up.

If a third party candidate will pick just one or two issues and leave all the rest of the issues that are like sticking a stick in a hornets' nest right alone, I believe they could win. Now, if they get snookered into debating things that ought to be states rights issues to begin with then they will be doomed, just like the Republicans and Democrats are doomed if they don't address the issues such as illegal immmigration, tax reform, social security, etc. that the majority of the people ARE most interested in.

Face it, Democrats and Republicans alike have both disgraced themselves repeatedly for years. They can say what they want to try to disguise the fact that we are in a mess but I can assure you that anyone who has to buy groceries and gas knows it is getting to be a struggle. Why would rational people give them another chance if there was another option?

We aren't going to sit here and let them tell us that a third party can't win and that people who vote for a third party are just giving away the election again. In most states the electoral college is required by law to vote with the majority. That is going to be our ticket out of this mess, so to speak.

And I'll tell you what gives me the most hope that it CAN happen. Our last mayoral election saw several candidates. The incumbant had all sorts of money to throw around for ads. The others had little to none. The guy who got the job was just an average guy who lives in an average house with an average family. He is a minority in this city. The reason he won? Because he can relate to the people and spent a lot of mornings with the people discussing what they wanted for this city. In all honesty, I don't have a clue what party ticket he ran on and I couldn't care less.

I foresee a day when the Presidential elections in the US are going to be the same way--the candidate, not the party, is going to determine who wins. And that is the way it should have been all along.

Do you think that the grassroots support for the Minutemen didn't do them as much good as the Minutemen themselves? Do you think they would have been any more than a flash in the pan last April if so many people, not just those of us in the Southwest but people all over this country, hadn't got behind them and made their name into a household word? We sent them money, we passed out their signs, we applauded them every inch of the way. What makes you think the people can't do the same for a President? A Senator? A Congressman? If fifty million give a buck it is the same thing as one corporation giving fifty million.

Who do you think got the media so interested in the Minutemen? I knw that I personally sent out dozens of letters, faxes and e-mails to appropriate places to get them interested. Station after station, network after network, picked up the story because they didn't want to be left out. Do you think the media is going to sit still and let the internet take over the political arena? I don't--they want those almighty dollars. And they know that they aren't going to get them if they don't give the people the information they want to have.

Have a little faith in the power of the people. We, as a nation, are tired of the deceit passed down from high places.

I couldn't agree more, JJ. All it is going to take is a HUGE, GRASSROOTS EFFORT by the PEOPLE to FORCE the media to shift direction. This time, they are NOT going to get away with making us feel GUILTY for voting for a third party candidate. AMERICANS ARE FED UP TO THE GILLS.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of Lou Dobbs running. He is right on the money on the illegal issue. He is completely AGAINST this globalization which is shrinking America's middle class. He is very intelligent, DOES HAVE A FORUM that is FREE and I just think, IF he were willing, it could be done. I'm going to research again but I THINK there WAS a website that was trying to recruit Lou to run. If I find it, I'll post a link.
