    Constitutional change

I hear all this talk about how it is unconstitutional to do this or that regarding illegal immigration. What would it take (and is it possible) to
get something put on the 2008 election ballot to have people vote to change to get a constitutional amendment to fix this mess and get rid of the illegals?

    Hi over40!!
Well the fact is we don't have to do that. We already have laws on the books that are not being enforced!!

This fight is about getting the Executive Branch to enforce the laws.
This fight is about getting your local police, who took oaths to uphold all the laws, to enforce the laws.
This fight is about Citizens showing those idiots in DC who owns this country.

we don't need to change the constitution (except the 14th amendment, another story) we need to enforce the laws on the books and not reward invading forces for breaking our laws.

but what about illegals who have kids born in this country that automatically become citizens?

I understand laws are not being enforced, but wouldn't a change in the constitution clear things up?

A Constitutional Amendment is not needed to end the granting of citizenship to illegal alien babies, Congress or the President could do it.

However it might take a Constitutional Amendment to revoke the citizenship of the current anchor babies already born.

And what politicians would be willing to make these amendments???

    NONE!!

It's a waste of time and effort until something actually changes.

There's nothing wrong with the 14th amendment, it's just been misinterpreted by some in our government. The ammendment was written to ensure that the children of former slaves, would be American citizens. It specificly says that it only applies to people "under the jurisdiction of" the United States. Illegal aliens, being citizens of foreign countries, are not under our jurisdiction.

For instance, children born to foreign diplomats, living in the U.S. are not given citizenship. If a foreigner is here on vacation and happens to have a child while here, the child is not a citizen. What we need is for an organization to take this to the Supreme Court and force them to make a ruling on it, thereby putting an end to anchor babies.
    REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!
