    Contacts with legislators

The following is contact information I had with legislators today: I called Sen. Bill Nelson of Florida (meant to call Ben Nelson, but as long as I was on the phone, I gave the pitch anyway) about the Dream Act; this Nelson is firmly in the camp of the illegals; Then called Sen. Ben Nelson of Nebraska, (given my origins in NE), first they wanted to confirm my location (outsider comment not welcome you know), I gave them my spiel, they say this Sen. Nelson is opposed to any amnesty of any kind until the borders are firmly controlled. I thanked them. Then I called Sen. Maria Cantwell of WA, they also wanted my location, and I gave them my old Washington address, since I also lived there at one time; her office said that Cantwell is a co-sponsor of the Dream Act and will vote for it; then to Sen. Scott Brown of MA (my only authority was the donations I provided when he ran for the Senate last time); They gave me a troubling reply, saying that "he was originally against the Dream Act, but now is in the 'undecided" category'. I then called Rep. Peter DeFazio of OR, they said he is "still reading every word of discussion on the topic of this Dream Act, but is still undecided." Then tried Rep. Brian Baird of WA, was not able to make contact with him (he is retiring, and apparently does not want to be bothered with input before he votes). I then tried Rep. Rick Larsen of WA, he is a big supporter of the Dream Act, and is a co-sponsor of this bill. I asked the girl in the office if they are getting calls from persons who have any kind of "language barrier", she did not seem to know what I was getting at, asked her if they are hearing from the illegal alien lobby/ phone tree, she denied this. In past days, I also called both of Idaho's Senators (Jim Risch and Mike Crapo), since it is my home state, and both of them are with us and will vote against the bill. I (and my wife) have tried repeatedly to call outgoing Rep. Walt Minnick, (who was voted out in November after one term), no direct contact with his office, so I also emailed him, and called his closest state office. Apparently Mr. Minnick also is one of those who is not interested in input. Don't know what else to do. Americans will cry and complain about the results of this bill if it passes, but not nearly enough people will be worried enough now to lift a finger to stop it.

i called Bennet of Colorado after his DC office didnt answer the phone.
the woman who answered instead of taking my concern proceeded to start an argument back and forth with me saying that they were brought here by their parents and should be allowed to stay. and i asked her what part of illegal do you not understand, especially with 10 percent unemployment and US College age kids who want to go out of state having to pay 3-5 times the instate amount. i said that is not fair and said that my cousin is in colorado having to pay that out of state tuition because she had not lived there in colorado for a year. then this lady said so your not in colorado, and i said no. i said i am calling for my cousin who sent me an email asking me to call for her cuz shes in classes all day. the stupid staffer just hung up on me

    From William:

    America,

This is your last chance to weigh in against the Dream Act Amnesty which the US Senate plans to vote for Cloture on around 4:30pm Eastern today! (3 hours from time of this email).

The US House plans to vote on Amnesty around 7:30pm EST!

ALIPAC activists across America are lighting up the DC switchboards, while tracking who is voting for or against Cloture on the Dream Amnesty in the Senate. ALIPAC's President, William Gheen, is doing back to back talk radio shows rallying more Americans to our efforts to defend America.

Millions of you are on the verge of being replaced and displaced in your jobs, classrooms, and voting enclosures.

Speak out now while minutes remain.

STEP 1: Your efforts have helped to move key votes our way! Please call the Senators below listed as "Noting No on Dream Amnesty Cloture" and say "I want to thank Senator ______ for standing with Americans, instead of foreign nationals. Tell Senator ____ I said thank you for agreeing to vote NO ON DREAM AMNESTY CLOTURE. Please ask Senator ____ to encourage other Senators to vote NO ON DREAM AMNESTY CLOTURE like he/she is."

STEP 2: Please call, then write the Senate offices listed below as VOTING YES or MAY VOTE YES ON DREAM AMNESTY CLOTURE.

Call and say "Please ask Senator ______ no to sellout America! Ask him/her to vote NO ON DREAM AMNESTY CLOTURE. Dream Amnesty is inappropriate for the lame duck session and would displace and replace millions of innocent American students, workers, and voters!"

Step 3: After you have called and written ALIPAC's senate targets below, please rally more Americans (friends, neighbors) to join you and then proceed to call and write our targets in the Congress found at this link.
    http://www.alipac.us/ftopict-219949.html

PLEASE KEEP CALLING AND WRITING UNTIL YOU RECEIVE FURTHER WORD FROM US.

THE DEMOCRATS ONLY NEED A FEW MORE VOTES TO PASS AMNESTY.

    Give this everything you have!
