Is Greed the Reason They Come?

I'm starting to think we are looking at this all wrong.

badthingsman said the following and I started to agree but I realize something.
We can do our part in helping them by not exploiting them and not offering them a temporary escape from their crippled economy. http://www.alipac.us/ftopicp-151821.html#151821
The, economical conditions in Mexico are better than they have been in years. In fact, as long as I can remember. Realize, it is the 12th wealthiest country in the World.

I don't know if I can blame Mexico's economy any more for the flood of illegals because of the great improvements to it's economic strengh.

I'm thinking, the current illeglas were living in Mexico, when the Peso's value was around 200 to a Dollar, now the value is about 11 to a Dollar. They should want to stay because their economy has gotten much-much better. They can survive living in Mexico, with the current improving economy. So what is the excuse for them still flooding over our borders, in increasing numbers?

In essence, they are coming here to become wealthy or have an above average standard of living in Mexico. Many will brag about what they have in Mexico. Think about it. If you could get $11 for every one you earned how much better off would you be? Your $10 just became $110 It's like working one year and earnig the salary of 11 years of work. It's messed up. They are highly motivated by money to break our laws. Even at minimun wage, they are earning about $55 Pesos an hour. Are they looking at an older generation that has benefited from illegal work in America? Is it learned behavior?

Ask an American that has recently visited Mexico and about how "cheap" everything is. How much buying power the Dollar has.

They have been saying, we just want a job. In contrast, they don't want to be American citizens. Actions speak louder than words. I find conflict in their actions and words and I ask why? I'm starting to think greed is the real motivation for them coming to America, not survival and taking care of their children. I really feel exploited because they send so much money back to Mexico. They want an estate in Mexico bought and paid for by American Dollars.

We have got to force this issue.

This invasion is like a rush, to a going out of business sale and every thing is a buck.

Can anyone find fault in this logic?

    Dixie

I'm on the sleepy side and I may have butchered this entire thought.

Maybe, but they have a socialistic government where there are only the rich and the poor. The rich do not want to pay taxes, so they send them here. The american taxpayer becomes mexico's welfare system. Alot of them can work for cash money and pay no taxes, so they can qualify for food stamps, welfare, ssi or adc for their anchor babies, etc. That way they can send back 50% of their pay home when american taxpayers are feeding them, housing them, etc. I think alot of them do want to be citizens, they want to vote so they can get more benefits and vote their people into office. Do you feel used?

Exactly, the reason they come is for the benefits. WIC/AFDC, food stamps, welfare checks, subsidized housing, free education, free healthcare, etc. Not to mention the huge numbers who not only use the system, but those who abuse the system, using multiple fake, forged and stolen IDs to sign up multiple times for benefits. I know a local cop who told me one time he pulled over a lady who was speeding. When he asked for her ID, she all but admitted she was an illegal, then out of her wallet fell 29 valid CA state benefit cards, all with the same first name and 29 different Hispanic last names.

If you figure each one gets her a minimum thousand bucks a month in welfare checks, multiply that by 29, which makes 29 thousand bucks a month in fraud. The worst thing is, he told me he called the state of CA welfare fraud office and was told by a supervisor to just let her go, they didn't have enough resources to do anything about it. Can you believe that crap? If 29 thousand bucks a month in fraud is not worth their while, just imagine how widespread the fraud must be.

And you know how these illegals are, once one of them learns the secret they teach it to all their family members, who do the same thing. So it's no wonder we have so many illegals coming here.

And not only do we have illegals living here getting welfare, here in San Diego we have Mexican Nationals who come across the border and sign up for welfare. I saw a lady in the local grocery store with 7 kids, none of whom could speak a single word of English. But when it came time to pay the cashier, she miraculously knew one term in English, "EBT", Electronic Benefit Transfer, meaning welfare. So what do I see in the parking lot? She and her kids loading their 350 bucks worth of diapers, baby formula and groceries into a brand new, shiny, giant SUV with, you guessed it... Mexico license plates.

    Isn't America wonderful?

I once met an illegal who said he owned a fine home in Mexico but was only here to earn extra money. What our politicians don't seem to get is so many do not want to become citizens, they only want the benefits and extra income. Makes us look so foolish.

LOL I have never met anyone who made $1000 a month on welfare or SSI, in cash. The average is about $250 to 300 for a single mom and 2 kids for food stamps. Welfare generaly sends about $300 to $500 in cash for rent, depending on the number of kids.

Now if your out working under the table 4 to 5 days a week you could do ok. If you had multiple welfare accounts i guess you could do better than ok. That is still a great deal of assistance at tax payer expense. Then if you add in housing aid and medical care you can definately say they get $1000 a month in benefits. But it isn't all in cash to them.

They have it made being illegal i guess. Because for the very reason they prosper using the system. Americans who go on it are caught in a horrible cycle. Not enough money or benefits to get on your feet and get off welfare. Hardly enough to live. If you work you get caught. Here in Wisconsin it is all computerized. A few years ago I was on unemployment and got $35 a month of food stamps. The very second my income tax check arrived, i was cut off the food stamps in two days flat. Thats how close they watch your bank account. I hadn't even gotten notice it was in my account yet! But, welfare sure as hell did.

Exactly, they have taught it to another generation. That's who is pouring over the border.

I've heard the same thing. We are foolish!

It varies by state. There is a lot of food stamp fraud in the drug market. She is trading benefits for something else.

If she is only getting 25 cents on the dollar she is still doing pretty good.
(.25 x 300) x 29 = 2175.00 This is not counting other benefits attatched to her welfare. I don't want to say any more but the money she could make by having those cards is incredible. In my opinion, she represents a big time fraud ring. I would have confiscated the cards or at least made photo copies of them and turned that into the welfare office.

What really burns me is knowing that the moines made up here goes back to Mexico. Do nothing for our economy. If we know they're only coming up for money to send back. Then it makes all the more sense to cut off the reasons why they come up. Which is what we all have been saying until we're blue in the face. Go after businesses that exploit cheap labor and cut off all freeby services that tax payers pay for. Rotten leaches.

Illegal immigration is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to welfare fraud.
I had a customer who, while writing a check, pulled out a stack of CA DLs (gold cards) that was at least 3/4 of an inch thick. I refused to do business with him after that. The problem is that many business go out of their way to deal with this kind of customer.
We see entire extended families in many stores these days, with some "families" numbering in the 10s and 20s. Everyone is dressed in team logo and other expensive casual (not working) clothing while many blab away on cell phones.
I'd like to see more of the legal non welfare cheating US population open their eyes and ask themselves the following questions:

How can these people live such expensive (non working) life styles?
How can these people afford to have so many children?
Why is it that these families can live on single incomes while we can't?
Why are they getting so many expensive benefits for free?
Why aren't working Americans getting these costly benefits for free?
Why aren't these people learning English?
Why are these people getting interest free home loans?
Who is profiting from these people and why?
Why are so many politicians aiding these people?
Why are Americans voting for politicians who aid illegal immigrants?
Why are legal Americans facing this kind of discrimination?

Mexico is one of the richest nations and places #12 as a country that has all the resources to make it into a great nation. The only thing that is stopping them is a corrupt government. They need to create more opportunities for their own people and quit sending them here, period,

    OK, my take.

They don't come here to live off the benefits. They come here because they know the benefits - safety net - is there for them. They know they won't starve, they will have a place to live, food to eat, medical care and their kids can go to school.

While I don't like the morals of some of these people - I just don't believe all these pregnant women would risk coming here and bringing their small children if they were not assured they would be cared for - they just wouldn't. They know exactly what they can get and how to get it when they come.

I do know people can get money back from the Lone Star Card - I don't know how it works, but I do know they get it.

This gives them the opportunity to work for less than an American. That almost assures them a job. This money then can be sent back to Mexico to buy a house, a ranch, or whatever.

There was a news story a while back about a new business that has cropped up. It is an American company that is the 'contractor' for illegals having their homes built back in Mexico. They meet with him, they decide on the house, he works with his counter-part in Mexico and these people get their house built.

I don't think all of them want to be citizens. I do think a lot of them have been convinced it is their right and this is their land. It is easy to convince people of that.

But the jobs are the key. They are making money on the jobs.

And folks, we are giving them that money.

Every time you spend money, remind yourself that probably you are helping an illegal to stay in this country. Everytime you spend that dollar, remind yourself that that dollar is helping them as well as many others it is costing you to keep them here.

The employers are not long on compassion - they are not going to continue to pay these people if there is no work for them - if the products aren't selling. That's is the beauty of illegal workers, beside the wages, there is absolutely no responsibility for them.
