Neighbors: Cory Booker never lived in Newark

    12:12 AM 10/14/2013
    Charles C. Johnson

As Cory Booker looks set to win the junior Senate seat in New Jersey Wednesday, his supposed neighbors in Newark say Mayor Booker doesn’t live in the Gateway City.
Multiple residents of Newark told The Daily Caller that the longtime mayor doesn’t live at any of the addresses he has claimed as home. The mayor is believed to live in New York even though he is registered to run for New Jersey’s special senate election.

Booker, who filed to run for the U.S. Senate from a P.O. Box in Newark, is registered to vote at 435 Hawthorne Avenue but his next door neighbors told this reporter and filmmaker Joel Gilbert on camera that they haven’t seen Booker in years and that he doesn’t live there.

“Does he still live here?” Gilbert asked Booker’s neighbor, Tashay Thomas.
“He never did,” she replied. “His security guards live here.”
Why did he claim to live there while sending police to be quartered in a private home?
“Because he is a liar.” Thomas replied.
Thomas yelled out to someone across the street: “They’re looking for that fake mayor who says he live here. He does not live here!”

“Cory Booker don’t live here,” said James Sharp, another neighbor. “Only his bodyguards live here.”
Why did he tell people he lived here? asked Gilbert.
“So that he could keep telling people he did stuff but he is not doing anything. A lot of people getting killed and he’s supposed stop the violence but he don’t.”

Thomas continued. “He comes over here once in a blue moon,” she said. “I saw that man over there once and that was like in 2009. I come here every day.”
Sharp said he, too, hadn’t seen Booker around. “I have lived here for a long time.”
Thomas and Sharp said that they think Booker travels around with a police scanner and just shows up at the scene of high-profile happenings.
Looking inside the windows at both 435 Hawthorne and 19 Longworth confirmed that both properties were vacant—that is, except for two police officers.

One police officer, who said his name was Officer Martinez, told us that 435 Hawthorne was Booker’s home but property records show that the home is owned by Ife Okocha.
Cassandra Dock, a community activist critical of both Mayor Booker and Governor Christie, told us that the home on Hawthorne was actually a police station.
“I know he don’t live on Hawthorne because when I did the 2010 census I knocked on the door and asked and introduced myself as the census taker and asked the person that lived there and was told by the officer — cause that house is always filled with officers — that that was a police station so he can’t possibly live in a police station,” Dock told The Daily Caller.

Dock and her friend, Donna Jackson, are convinced that Booker lives in New York. “I really do believe he lives in New York,” says Dock.
The property at Hawthorne appeared vacant when this reporter went up to the windows. Booker’s other alleged home—19 Longworth St—was also vacant. Another police officer, who declined to give his name, greeted me there and told me the mayor wasn’t in.
Booker bought 19 Longworth St on 9/30/2011 and the Star-Ledger seemed to think he bought it as a home rather than a rental when he was delinquent on his taxes shortly after the purchase: “Perhaps the most illustrious among the laggard taxpayers was Mayor Cory Booker who, until Thursday, owed $2,820 for his newly purchased home on Longworth street.”
The house at Longworth was a murder house. According to property records, Fabio Borges bought the house in 2005 for $450,000 and was killed two years later in his front driveway by a tenant.
The property went to HSBC in a foreclosure in 2008. The bank sold the house to Cory Booker in 2011 for $171,000 (assessed value was $299,100)—a great deal if you want to live in a murder house.

But there’s no evidence that Booker lived there. The Longworth property is also not listed on Booker’s Senate ethics disclosure. Indeed, no real estate is, unless it is hidden inside “Cory Booker Management Trust,” which shows zero income.
The Hawthorne property’s public record is even more hallowed. Booker claims his widely publicized rescue of a neighbor from a burning building occurred next to that house. (Related: Newark activists say Booker’s fire-rescue story is all wet)

The New York Post did an exposé on Booker’s other property at 130 Court, which burst into flames and has been lived in by squatters. Booker recently sold the abandoned property for $1 to the Newark Now nonprofit, which he owns.

The Booker campaign did not return a request for comment.

Bloomberg drops $1 million to rescue … Booker?

POSTED AT 8:41 AM ON OCTOBER 7, 2013 BY ED MORRISSEY

When recent polling from Steve Lonegan’s campaign suggested that the Republican hadmoved within the margin of error of massive favorite Cory Booker in next month’s race to fill the rest of the term of late US Senator Frank Lautenberg, I was highly skeptical. I’m generally suspicious of polls released publicly by campaigns anyway, and in this case especially so. Despite Chris Christie’s big successes in New Jersey, it’s still a blue state, and Booker has been a popular mayor in a big media market.
At least, I was skeptical — until today. The New York Times reports that Booker’s backers have started to get nervous, and now Michael Bloomberg will dump $1 million of his own cash to rescue Booker:
Cory A. Booker is an undisputed star of a new generation of African-American leaders, electrifying liberal audiences with his oratory and charming the social media set with his digital savvy.
But the Senate campaign Mr. Booker, a Democrat, is running in New Jersey — at times sputtering, unfocused and entangled in seemingly frivolous skirmishes over Twitter messages involving a stripper — has unnerved his supporters, who thought that a robust and unblemished victory over his Republican opponent, Steve Lonegan, would catapult him onto the national stage.
As his allies move to shore up what was supposed to be a painless path to Congress, the biggest and wealthiest of them, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, will start spending more than $1 million on Monday to broadcast television commercials on Mr. Booker’s behalf, a vast sum to pour into a single candidacy. …
Mr. Lonegan, despite his ideological alignment, appears to have tapped into lingering doubts about whether Mr. Booker can translate his outsize, self-promotional persona, so popular with the Democratic base, into the rigors of a highly disciplined campaign. …
A radio commercial hammered Mr. Booker, 44, for traveling to the West Coast a few weeks ago to attend a fund-raiser with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck after murders had spiked in Newark, declaring: ”While you’re listening to this ad, Cory Booker is in California, getting as far away as he can from his own city’s problems.”
Don’t get too excited, though. A follow-up poll by Monmouth University released last week showed Booker up by 13 points, 53/40. The week before, a Quinnipiac poll showed Booker up 12 points. The problem for Booker’s supporters is that this isn’t a big enough lead, considering the relative standing he has against Lonegan in the media and in the state.
That should be a worry for Booker, who tried to paint himself as a uniter in yesterday’s debate. He told audiences that Lonegan would only add to the forces in Washington that have created the government shutdown, while noting just how well he works with Christie to keep the state in business. On the other hand, even some of his supporters wonder exactly what Booker actually did as mayor of Newark:
In interviews, even those who said they planned to vote for him expressed reservations about his experience and ambitiousness, arguing that he had not yet truly proved himself in Newark.
Kenneth Paige, a 54-year-old barber in East Orange, where Mr. Booker campaigned over the weekend, cited the continued problem with crime in Newark.
”What did he really do?” said Mr. Paige, a Democrat, who indicated that he would vote for his party’s nominee nonetheless.
Can Bloomberg’s bucks keep that question from popping up? Probably not, but Lonegan has a very long way to go and a very short time to get there — and that million dollars will create even more headwinds.

Here’s something you can do to help elect Steve Lonegan to the U.S. Senate this Wednesday. Make five phone calls to any New Jersey voters you know. It doesn’t matter if they’re Democrats or Republicans or no party at all. Call them and tell them to vote for Steve Lonegan this Wednesday. Then ask them to call five people THEY know. Spread the word! Don’t just stop at five people. Call even more if you can.

Please be sure to get to the polls this Wednesday, October 16, and vote for Steve Lonegan. If someone you know can’t get to the polls, give them a ride. Let’s do all we can to secure a win for New Jersey on Wednesday!

Calling All Couch Potatoes in New Jersey! Special Election is on Wednesday!

Posted by Cynthia on October 14, 2013 at 8:17pm in General, Town Hall

Note: You don't have to be from New Jersey to assist in this Special Election. Details below:

Mr Potato Head does not come alive until you put his face on. In my day, you first needed a potato, but now because it is too much work to pick up a potato at the grocery store, consumers are provided with a plastic potato head, an ironic and symbolic replacement for America’s favorite vegetable in our plastic society. Mr Potato Heads many facial features get easily punched into place while deciding if he should be happy, sad or implanted with a black moustache that manages to disguise his mood altogether.

In New Jersey, this coming Wednesday, all sad Mr Potato Head couch potatoes need to get off their comfortable naugahyde vinyl roosts and report to their nearest neighborhood voting booths, even though it may take a little extra spunk and energy. The temporary annoyance of having to get off the couch is a small price to pay for the sacred freedom that all couch potatoes seem to appreciate. On October 16th, a special election in New Jersey will be held to fill the Senate seat left vacant when Frank Lautenberg passed away in June. Current mayor of Newark, Cory Booker and Steve Lonegan, former mayor of Bogota, New Jersey will face off in a highly contested race that will hopefully yield one more conservative seat in the mostly liberal Senate.

Instead of focusing on race or party affiliation race, common sense and reason should be used to fully understand how healthy Newark is after being managed by the Booker regime for the last seven years. The facts surrounding Bookers success as Mayor of Newark should be ample evidence of his ability to lead in the future and become a successful Senator who will do an exceptional job for America.

Let’s begin with the fact that Conde Nast Traveler named Newark, New Jersey the most unfriendly city in the world, not just in the United States, in the entire world! According to the survey of 46,000 readers, Newark is more unfriendly than Islamabad, Pakistan, Oakland, California, Luanda, Angola and Kuwait. One reader said she “would not recommend this city for anything.” That brazen distinction certainly does not make a person want to run right over there and share in the kumbaya jungle of bad times.

Crime has escalated under Booker’s watch even though in 2006 when Booker ran for mayor he stated “Hold me accountable” if crime were to increase. Current State Police records show murders and robberies on the rise. “I am a hostage in my own home” cited resident Deborah Boone-Coy in a recent interview. “ I don’t feel comfortable to indulge in normal casual activity.” Within the last two months alone, a child was murdered, 10 dead in 10 days, including a pizza deliveryman who was gunned down. Should we hold Booker “accountable” and if not, who should be held responsible...the pizza company for not providing armored cars for their deliverymen?

Newark, long dubbed the carjacking capitol of the world is on track to have more than 400 carjackings this year, up from around 200 in 2009. Booker’s solution to the problem is an expensive tax paid billboard campaign that notifies illiterate thugs they should expect to be jailed for their crimes. It is a typical Booker big government band-aid for a social problem that is better fixed by pumping the same money, as an example, into the Boys Club of America, an organization that inspires and enables young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. But Booker does not care to get to the root of the problem and would prefer to enslave than enable.

While on the subject of children, how has education fared in Newark under Mayor Booker? On what should be a positive note, Booker has been credited for being responsible for attracting a Mark Zuckerberg $100 million gift to help fortify both his district and charter schools. However, facts do not lie and an education system with a graduation rate pegged at less than 50 percent is unacceptable and appalling. Newark is one of the most expensive school districts in the country but for seven years in a row, thousands of children have folded into a life of crime and poverty and have not even received a high school diploma! It is even more troubling when learning that a good portion of the Zuckerberg funds have been used to pad the pockets of the city’s consultants. In addition to those shocking shennanigan’s, Booker’s former law partner, Trent DiPasquale has been allowed to bill city controlled agencies for more than $1.5 million in legal fees, while Booker himself has earned $688,500 in equity payouts since becoming mayor. When highlighting political payoffs, Booker does seem like a great fit for the Senate. After all, crooks of a feather flock together.

Every available couch potato needs to put on their serious faces and make an important decision, either let Booker get elected, another loyal disciple of Obama who insists on more big government spending programs, or to get out and vote for Steve Lonegan who would like to promote an entrepreneurial spirit that will help America get out of the economic doldrums. Booker supports global warming and the business killing Cap and Trade, while Lonegan has fought hard against Cap and Trade. Booker supports more regulations for gun purchasing and supports banning assault rifles, while Lonegan opposes any new gun control measures and firmly supports the Second Amendment. Booker supports an all encompassing immigration bill, while Lonegan staunchly opposes it. Booker goes along with Obamacare, while Lonegan wants to repeal or defund the ill-conceived Act. Booker is Pro-choice while Lonegan is Pro-life. The bottom line is, these two candidates are diametrically opposed, Booker a lefty clone of Obama and into big government and Steve Lonegan a righty Reaganite who is for cutting spending and helping the middle class prosper and thrive once again.

As every couch potato found out the hard way in 2012, not getting off the couch to vote can affect their future in a very profound and dismal way. Couches all over America are now being occupied by children still residing at home because they cannot find a job. The king couch potatoes of the house are now forced to share their TV remotes with disagreeable family members who do not like their taste in television programs. Even worse than that, most kings of the couch have also been forced to share their beloved perches with teenage couch potatoes who prefer to play violent video games like Grand Theft Auto and Manhunt while listening to Heavy Metal. It is enough for any Potato Head couch potato to want to remove their plastic eyes and ears.

Get out and vote on Wednesday, your couch potato life depends on it!

Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Freedom Will Ring Tomorrow!

Posted by Lloyd Marcus on October 15, 2013 at 4:40pm

This is it folks, the New Jersey special election for U.S. Senate, Wednesday, Oct. 16th. After months of campaigning, it all comes down to voter turn out.

In response to Booker's plunging poll numbers 2 days before the election, President Obama came out with a video asking voters to turn out for Cory Obama. Sorry, I meant to say Cory Booker. Although, with his eagerness to follow in his idol's footsteps, many are calling Booker, Obama's clone.

In case you haven't noticed, there's a political perfect storm a brewin'; unforeseen events all working together, ushering in a resurgence of Conservatism, while reigniting the Tea Party.

For example. Who could have predicted that two freshman conservative senators, Ted Cruz and Mike Lee, would lead the GOP charge to defund Obamacare? Then, out of nowhere emerges this outspoken advocate for Conservatism running for U.S. Senate, New Jersey. He is fearless of the liberal media and boldly proclaims that him winning the seat will be a referendum on Obama. A remarkable tireless campaigner, millions are attracted by his confidence, inspiring life story and message.

Suddenly, Steve Lonegan is a national figure, firing up patriots across America. Top conservative voices such as Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin and Mark Levin have come aboard the Lonegan run-a-way train along with Sen. Rand Paul, Gov. Rick Perry, Gov. Chris Christie, a business advocacy group and numerous grassroots conservative groups.

Thousands attended a Tea Party Express rally for Lonegan. It takes an investment of time and money for thousands to show up at a rally, an indicator of the growing passion for Lonegan.

Also contributing to the political perfect storm is Obama plunging in the polls, the exposure of his insidious attempts to use the shutdown to inflict pain on Americans , truckers and dozens of veteran groups protesting in DC.

Stakes are high and both sides of the political isle are well aware of it. This election is really about America, defining the kind of country we will be. A Lonegan victory is a victory for America.

We are still building our army of patriots to make phone calls.

    To help please email: phonefromhome@conservativecampaign.org

Conservative Campaign Committee made radio and tv ad buys. Funds are needed to purchase more.

This is an all hands on deck drill folks – We The People for Lonegan vs Booker's backers: Oprah, Ben Affleck, other deep-pocketed Hollywood heavyweights, $1million contributor billionaire Mayor Bloomberg, Obama and the Democrats.

Patriots, I want to sincerely thank you for rallying around Lonegan. Amazingly, you have Democrats panicked, scrambling to save a Senate seat they once assumed to be a sure thing.

My wife Mary informed me that Jeff a conservative biker I met at a Tea Party was among those requesting a list to make phone calls for Lonegan. Very cool. That's what I am talking about – We The People.

Please leave no stone unturned, no phone call unmade, no ride to the polls denied and no contribution not sent. This is it! It's all about turn-out.

Now, let's get it done folks. Let's get it done.
