One success/funny story/sad story to relate...

1.) This was posted on our town website. But it's the only success I've heard so far. I've got to generate more heat in the town, get people stirred up (I'm the town with over 10,000 illegals).

Well, I went into Ponderosa the other day and saw a lot of black people working. I asked one of the server what happened to all of the Mexican employees and he said they were let go because they were illegals. I did see one Mexican lady who's been there a long time. I think I'll ask someone else about that. Oh, new management have the servers to get your dinner rolls rather than having them on the line where people (mostly kids) puts their hands all over them. Anyone else been there lately? Their air conditioning is bad.

2.) My relatives fiance has a fiesty 80 year old grandma. She was recently out shopping in Texas. The two sales clerks were chattering away in Spanish not paying attention to her. She loudly said, "Why don't you speak English?" One of them said, "We are speaking the language from our country of origin." Fiesty old lady says, "Well why don't you go back!" She laid her stuff down and walked out of the store.

3.) One of my wife's friends took her child to a orientation meeting for school. Of the 60 or so people there (half parents/half kids) hers was the only caucasian child. The schools last year were 68% -I'm thinking the number will zoom up this school year. Now her child is used to diversity and saw this as normal, but... There were 3 or 4 African Americans there as well -the schools could have placed the English speakers into one group for the learning stations, but they would not. She said it was difficult for her child to remain focused with every direction, story and/or song given in Spanish and then hopefully English. The English speakers came in a distant second...

Oh and a question. I'd really like to get a picture by my name. Is there info on this site explaining how to do this or would anyone like to take me under their wing and briefly explain it?
