    Candidate needs your help

    Here is Tim Donnelly (CA assembly candidate) in his own words;

    Fellow Minutemen,

Many of you know me from our service together at the border. We served as the Paul Revere of our times, alerting the nation to a problem that has overwhelmed California to the point of bankruptcy. Oftentimes we discussed the next step around the campfire or at our pre-op briefings, and for me, that next step is finally here. I am running for the 59th Assembly District to replace Anthony Adams, an incumbent who is not running again after an attempt was made to recall him for raising taxes.

The timing of my run could not be more perfect. Illegal immigration is not only the hottest issue, it is the number one issue for many people.

Can you imagine the look on John Perez's face when he learns that the easy-going, consensus-building Anthony Adams, who raised our taxes $16 Billion, was replaced by a Minuteman leader, whose first act in the Assembly will be to introduce the Arizona Law (SB 1070) here in California.

With illegal immigration heating up as the hottest issue in this race, we have an excellent chance of winning.

We know our message is resonating with people, but we have been advised that reaching the absentee vote is the key to victory in the 59th District. In order to win the primary, we must win a huge block of votes from off the mountain (where I reside) and in areas like La Verne, Montclair, Apple Valley, Hesperia, and Victorville, where the vast majority of people vote by absentee ballot. In Highland and North San Bernardino, we are running a ground campaign by walking precincts, holding meet and greets and reaching out to large churches. This should lock up 3,000 to 5,000 votes total. Combined with the 1,000-2,000 vote we expect to win from the mountain, we are less than 1/3 of the way to our goal of getting 25,000 votes. The 59th District is so massive, that in spite of our considerable efforts, it is impossible to win without using direct mail.

We must reach voters before the end of next week (May15th), or risk missing out on the most crucial voting block. Some 66-80% of all votes cast in our District for the last primary winner in this race were cast by mail. We are asking for help from a select group of individuals, who are patriots, and who love this country without reservation. We need your help! We are not raising money from special interests. We want to be accountable to the people and to the companies in our district, as that is who we intend to serve.

Everywhere we go, we are taking huge blocks of votes from our competitors who are accomplished politicians, who have large war chests, but nothing to offer but the status quo. We have raised over $10K to date, but we have used all of that money to buy the signs, print flyers, and have put up a billboard in order to get our message out. Not one penny has gone to any of us, our staff or volunteers. We have some impressive people working on this campaign, including my good friends Gregg Imus, Chad Hanely, and Rick Dressler, who has designed all of our artwork, and our website, all free of charge.

Below you will find a list of charges to do a professional mailer that will reach voters just in time to help us win the critical absentee vote.

This is the one opportunity where your help can make a tremendous difference in this campaign, and we know that you want to do something, so please give this request serious consideration.

For the total cost of $5403.43, we can reach 20,000 Republican households with 2 or more Republican voters, who have voted in 4 out of the past 5 elections. That means we are spending 14 cents per voter if we figure we are reaching 40,000 actual voters.

If we could get 5 people to donate $1,000, or 10 people to donate $500.00, or 50 people to give $100, or 1,000 people give $5.00, we could make this happen by Monday, May 10th. (The maximum you can contribute is $3,900.00 for this election, so if you have already donated, and many of you have (Thank you!!!), please bear in mind that you will need to stay under that limit).

All we need today is your pledge!!!

Since I left active service with the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. of California, I have not ever asked anyone for anything. This campaign is not for me, Tim Donnelly, the individual; it is our campaign, it is for the Minutemen who were marginalized 5 years ago, who are now at long last being shown the respect we all deserved; it is for the people whose voice has too long been ignored.

Thank you for considering a donation of your money or your time. We will be good stewards of whatever you can give.

As many of you know, our nation is now cognizant of the service we performed. If you have not yet had someone come up to you, and thank you for you service, let me share with you the sentiments of a grateful nation, that 5 years ago was too afraid to say it:

Thank you for your service on the border and in your communities.

You are patriots, all, and I look forward to seeing or hearing from you again.

    Godspeed,

    Tim Donnelly
