Is Paula Deen in a High Blood Sugar Tizzy? Deen fits snugly into the stupid liberal c

Is Paula Deen in a High Blood Sugar Tizzy?

It’s official! Paula Deen fits snugly into the stupid liberal category, but not for the usual reasons.

Allegedly, the 66-year-old Food Network chef uttered racially provocative words and supposedly made sexual and racial innuendos.

After all these years of being careful when her mouth was full of her famous hoecakes not to say the words jigger, figure, vigor, chigger or digger in mixed company so as not to be falsely accused, she blows it and says the N-word right in front of an employee.

Some are saying that Paula’s unprofessional recklessness went far beyond the boundaries of impropriety.

Paula ‘Y’all’ Deen is accused of pretending to perform sex acts on chocolate éclairs, watching pornography while making fried macaroni and cheese, and on more than one occasion using the career-destroying N-word in front of employees working at Uncle Bubba’s Oyster House in Savannah, Georgia.

Uncle Bubba’s manager Lisa Jackson, who was apparently taking extensive notes while monitoring Paula’s every utterance, said that on at least one occasion, the Queen of Butter used the N-word in reference to Barack Obama. Jackpot! That was the “gotcha” Lisa was patiently waiting for!

According to Ms. Jackson, who is suing the cooking icon for $1.2 million, Deen allegedly suggested hiring African-Americans to dress in costumes and work at her brother Earl “Bubba” Hiers’ wedding.

According to Lisa, Deen said “What I would really like is a bunch of little [N-word]s to wear long-sleeve white shirts, black shorts and black bow ties. Now that would be a true Southern wedding, wouldn’t it?”

Whoa! Isn’t Paula Deen Oprah’s inspiration? Would Oprah consider Paula’s creative idea for a Southern-style wedding an example of Paula’s “life and vivaciousness” or, after Paula’s inevitable fall from politically correct grace, will Ms. Winfrey write her off too?

Regardless of what Oprah thinks, Paula Deen was “Chopped” by a network she helped make successful. In the aftermath of the controversy, Deen has profusely begged for forgiveness and done all but publicly tar and feather herself to express her sorrow to y’all for saying the N-word.

But all of Paula’s mea culpas have fallen on deaf ears.

Yet, who can forget when Paula, back when she was still making glazed-donut Lady’s Brunch Burgers, chowed down with healthy-eating nag Michelle Obama on her cooking show? Stupidly, Paula fell all over herself and even compared “Mrs. Pimski” to Jackie Kennedy.

Now, in an interesting twist, we find out that Ms. Deen actually campaigned and voted for none other than the man she allegedly described with the N-word, Barack Obama!

For her unforgivable mistake, Paula the leper has been exiled beyond the Food Network city gates. But come on people, don’t y’all think a little compassion is in order here?

Since those shameful incidents, Paula has been diagnosed with Type II diabetes. Out-of-wack glucose levels make people do and say wacky things. That’s why, medically speaking, if high blood sugar could have made Paula stupid enough to support Barack Obama, it may have also caused Ms. Deen to use the N-word, and even get outrageously lewd with a chocolate éclair.

But there is hope! Ms. Deen is a hopelessly smitten Barack supporter, and that should count for something when considering her fate. After all, the magnanimous man in the White House has set the example by extending forgiveness to all manner of illegal aliens, Taliban sympathizers, and even distraught foreign debtors.

And since Obama tends to reward loyalty by promoting screw-ups and idiots, maybe he could make Paula the face of diabetes by crowning her the new Blood Sugar Czar.

Confession of a black journalist: Like Paula Deen, I've used the n-word (Opinion from Anthony Cook)

    By Anthony Cook
    on June 25, 2013

When I first heard about the dust-up over food mogul Paula Deen saying the n-word, my first reaction was "Um ... OK."

I considered it just that – a dust-up. Big deal.

But when it was reported that her extremely popular cooking show was being dropped from the Food Network, my thoughts changed to: "This is a big deal."

I'm guilty of spending the occasional Saturday morning in front of the tube with my wife, watching Paula whip up some Southern comfort food.
When I heard she'd used the n-word at some point in her life, I wondered how I'd view her the next time she was on TV, concocting something you could almost taste through the screen and telling us "This is so good, y'all."

But, apparently that's not gonna happen. Not only has Food Network dropped her show, but Smithfield Foods has dropped her as a spokeswoman, and QVC and Walmart are considering doing the same.

This writing isn't a defense of Paula Deen. She's a big girl. She can take care of herself. And those businesses that are dropping association with her are just that – businesses. They have to consider the bottom line, which can be greatly affected by blows to their image. They essentially have been left with no choice.

I began to see the hypocrisy of expecting white people to adhere to a standard that I was not upholding myself.

As a black man, this writing is my attempt to point out the fake outrage and the hypocrisy of those of us who claim we are somehow damaged by this particular person, Paula Deen, admitting that she used the n-word years ago. If the word is offensive and harmful, why are we not offended and harmed when African-American rappers and comedians use it? Why are we not offended and harmed when neighbors and relatives use it? Why do we not consider that we offend and harm others when we use it?

Full disclosure ... I've used the n-word. As a teenager, a college student and as a young adult, I used it prolifically, loosely, and largely indiscriminately.
But, as I became more mature, more professional, more serious about my faith in Christ, I removed that word (and many others) from my vocabulary. I was motivated partly by self-respect. I wanted to be viewed by others as respectful and professional without duplicity.

I also began to see the hypocrisy of expecting white people to adhere to a standard that I was not upholding myself. Using it culturally is no excuse. That's the same reason Paula Deen used it – because it was culturally accepted at the time among her family and colleagues.

I've heard the arguments that black people are excused because we took something ugly and made it beautiful.

Newsflash: The n-word is still ugly.

We don't know what people do or say behind closed doors, unless they admit to it like Paula Deen, so we don't know how often that word is uttered every day across this country. But what's sad is that public use of the n-word likely would have all but disappeared by now if it were not for black entertainers.

I'm not easily offended, but I do realize the historical weight, significance, pain and offensiveness of the n-word. These days, I have the opportunity to speak to young, impressionable black teens. I want them to see that they are not the n-word, that they owe themselves more than calling each other a slur that was used to demean and oppress our ancestors.

I owe my ancestors the dignity of not trying to embrace the things they died trying to overcome. It doesn't move the needle to fake outrage over learning that white people said that word decades ago if I toss it around without a second thought.

The greatest stand that I, as a black man, can ever make against the n-word is not to use it myself.

The Paula Deen Witch Hunt Isn’t About Racism

by Catherine on June 29, 2013
If you think the media and corporate witch hunt for Paula Deen is about racism, you’re wrong. Even the guy she called ‘the-word-that-must-not-be-spoken-except-by-rap-stars-that-visit-the-White-House’ thinks the racist thing is nuts.
The “foodie” elite have been after her for years. The very idea that a Rubenesque, butter-lovin’ jovial Southern woman could swoop in and grab a huge chunk of the lucrative food television/cookbook market right out of the bony fingers of bi-coastal very serious and boring food assholes…well, food assholes have been livid ever since she drawled, “more butter, y’all!”
Food assholes don’t like “real” American cooking. And by “real”, I mean the kind where you go to Wal-Mart or the local supermarket to get ingredients that aren’t certified organic and chef approved, to cook good food that your friends and family will actually like. Food assholes will rapture on about “regionally authentic” biscuits and gravy, but the biscuit flour better be locally ground from organic wheat watered by the sweat of unicorns and the gravy rendered from fat from heirloom hogs that listen to Avett Brothers songs piped into the barn. And they REALLY don’t like untrained, uneducated, rotound, slightly unhealthy, Southerners that steal their epicurian thunder. The minute Paula Deen sashayed onto the scene with her folksy talk and simple, available, familiar, non-precious ingredients to make sometimes fattening food Americans really love and eat….they’ve had it in for her.
Because food assholes are really food nannies. They want to be the arbitrators of taste and nutrition.
Which brings us to this….the number one food nanny in all of America. And why Mrs. Obama might be just a tiny bit pissed at Miss Paula. And if Michelle ain’t happy, you can bet lots and lots of corporate and media honchos ain’t gonna be happy either.

And now it all makes sense, doesn’t it? Following the liberal smear playbook, label your opponents racists and ruin their lives the best you can.
And if you don’t believe me, you’re a racist.

Wow, the complaint makes it sound like they strapped her down and screamed epithets at her. How in the heck was this girl harmed financially as claimed in the complaint? Looks like just a money grab to me.
