George Washington told John Adams that he opposed 'political' parties because it would result in one's loyalties to be more often to the 'party' than to the nation. Now there is one GW I wish we had back as president.

Just finished reading a book on George Washington. Have a new hero. Back then people were struggling to get this great country started. Today people haven't suffered and struggled like they did. George Washington was a man of principles. He did not want to be president, imagine that? But he sacrificed because he believed in this country, he put his country before everything else. He would be rolling over in his grave if he knew what the politicians have done to what our founders set in place. People need to read more about the founders, to remember them and try to get back to what this country was intended to be.

Maybe books like you have read, should be mandatory for anyone taking oath in any political office? Sure would not hurt.

Books like that used to be mandatory for everyone in public school.

And we're supposed to be smarter because we have advanced technology? A few lessons in things like George Washington, or the Constitution and the Declaration would be good lessons in common semse.

Concerning the founding fathers and the Constitution, what will we do when we come to that troublesome part about Congress coining money and the founders writings concerning honest money?

Or perhaps the better question would be what would the Fed do?

An honest nickel, or a slick dime?
