This is in response to the Los Angeles City Council’s ratification of the Declaration of Los Angeles on December 13th, 2006

    Declaration of Los Angeles

A project of the Pacific Southwest Region of the Anti-Defamation League

    RECITALS

    1. Security precautions are necessary to protect the integrity of the United States border and the well-being of the American people. The United States has every right as a sovereign nation to control its border and immigration policies. However, immigration policy must also take into consideration and strive to protect civil and human rights of immigrants.

    2. In response to the alleged threat that undocumented persons pose to American society, unauthorized vigilante civilian groups have formed to put pressure on the U.S. government.

    3. These groups, which have conducted their own unauthorized patrols along the United States-Mexico border, use anti-immigrant and xenophobic rhetoric to exploit mainstream fears of unchecked immigration, especially Latino immigration.

    4. Anti-immigration rhetoric also is used to promote a message of intolerance of undocumented persons and of Latinos in general.

    5. Vigilante civilian patrol groups are usually armed during their border patrols, creating the potential for violence and creating an atmosphere of fear and lawlessness.

    6. Members of hate groups, such as neo-Nazi and white supremacist groups, have expressed support for civilian patrol and anti-immigration groups, through participation in patrols, protests and rallies.

    7. Although there is a continued risk of terrorists and criminals misusing the immigration system to illegally enter the United States, a safe and secure border cannot be achieved through civilian vigilantism.

    8. Coordinated efforts by federal, state and local law enforcement officials are necessary to monitor the activities of civilian border patrols and extremist groups in order to maintain safety and public order and to protect human and civil rights.

    9. Anti-immigration and anti-Latino rhetoric ignores the valuable economic and cultural contributions these groups have made to American society for hundreds of years.

    DECLARATION

Based on the foregoing recitals, the Pacific Southwest Region of the Anti-Defamation League, together with the undersigned concerned members of the Los Angeles community, call upon local, state and federal government officials to do the following, when crafting immigration policy which affects the US-Mexico border:

    1. Recognize and protect the basic human rights of immigrants.

    2. Support human rights and the humane treatment of undocumented persons as part of the tradition of fighting intolerance and bias.

    3. Recognize and publicly denounce xenophobia and anti-immigrant bias as having no place in United States’ immigration policy.

    4. Monitor and respond to extremist groups who advocate bigotry or racism, armed citizen response, vigilantism in any form, violence or any other tactic that subverts the democratic process.

    5. Hold to the highest standards of human rights and dignity all law enforcement and judicial processes that relate to deportation, detention and immigration status.

    6. Recognize the need for a safe and secure United States.

Typical COMMUNIST strategy and propaganda. That they are attacking and labeling the Minutemen, indicates that the Minutemen are making a positive difference.

Their "best shot" is to play the race card, over and over and over.

What part of "We don't owe our jobs to India" are you unable to understand, Senator?

There is nothing said about "up holding the rights of the American Citizens.

They made a point to make it sound as if Latinos in general was the main target.
They are telling them to watch out for laws that had`nt been broken(on our part) But nothing about Laws that have been broken (on the Illegals part)
Day by Day this counrty is becoming more two sided!

This was posted in a thread about a Canoga Park day labor site. They have been having some problems.

LAPD malfeasance in Canoga: AP77 ARRESTED, Police then REJECT OUR VIDEO

I think you are right. They have been making a positive difference.

I seems some don't like it.

P.S. I left a message for them to forward but I don't see it posted yet.

    Declaration of Los Angeles

Now we should put this in line with the illegal immigrants actions toward all American citizens and Demand these very same rights from them and their backers such as LaRaza, Mecha and their ACLU. Past time everything worked both ways.

Yeah, when is ALIPAC and the many other anti-illegal organizations (no hate groups participation allowed) throughout the country going to come together and formulate "our" delcaration? I'm sick and tired of all the one-sided rhetoric and propaganda being utilized to justify the defense of an illegal activity!

    You are right MW.

I am just a "sardine" here but you, BIG fish of ALIPAC, use too much the words "We should." It is more than time to start using WE MUST and DO it! Time is running out.

It is a war! Attack! Always attack!

The LA Declaration supposedly written by the city council is misleading and biased.

But that's not the whole story. If you click the link you will find the COUNTER-Declaration of "Concerned American Citizens" which should be applauded!

Now click and write your support to KABC radio. Don't let them fight this travesty, this so-called "LA Declaration", on their own. We're not buying it !

I am still incensed by the shameful Declaration of Los Angeles (the arrogance and nerve to prostitute an entire city's name, as if suggesting American citizens also think this way.)
A project of the Pacific Southwest Region of the Anti-Defamation League

RECITALS (dictated by the illegal-alien-loving city council who want to stick it to legal immigrants and citizens.)

    1. Security precautions are necessary to protect the integrity of the United States border and the well-being of the American people. The United States has every right as a sovereign nation to control its border and immigration policies. However, immigration policy must also take into consideration and strive to protect civil and human rights of immigrants. (Of course you obliquely mean "illegals", rather than "immigrants". I agree then, up to the point that illegals are treated humanely while in detention and sent back to their home country expediently. Legal immigrants, of course, are welcomed.)

    2. In response to the alleged threat that undocumented persons pose to American society, unauthorized vigilante civilian groups have formed to put pressure on the U.S. government. (The threat is not "alleged", rather it is actually downplayed. Vigilante (from the root word "vigil" or "vigilant" as in "the price of freedom is eternal vigilance" )

    3. These groups, which have conducted their own unauthorized patrols along the United States-Mexico border, use anti-immigrant and xenophobic rhetoric to exploit mainstream fears of unchecked immigration, especially Latino immigration. (If you want to see xenophobic rhetoric watch the Latinos in any of the rally videos. And it isn't "especially Latino". If 20 million illegal alien Norwegians suddenly inundated the USA our Minutemen would be likewise alarmed and actively opposing the invasion)

    4. Anti-immigration rhetoric also is used to promote a message of intolerance of undocumented persons and of Latinos in general.
("undocumented" means the illegal hasn't managed to steal anyone's identity so far. And by Latino you mean "illegal aliens" most of whom come from Mexico and points South?)

    5. Vigilante civilian patrol groups are usually armed during their border patrols, creating the potential for violence and creating an atmosphere of fear and lawlessness. (oh, and don't forget the threats from armed Mexican militia crossing our borders, and the drug smugglers)

    6. Members of hate groups, such as neo-Nazi and white supremacist groups, have expressed support for civilian patrol and anti-immigration groups, through participation in patrols, protests and rallies. (If you want to see "hate groups" check out rally videos of illegal aliens threatening US patriots. White-supremacist groups, though reprehensible in their extreme rhetoric, don't hold a candle to groups, like La Raza, or Mecha, Mexican-supremacist groups which threaten to "take back" the southwest, and who show strong intolerance of anyone disagreeing with their "reconquista" agenda, even to the point of violence.)

    7. Although there is a continued risk of terrorists and criminals misusing the immigration system to illegally enter the United States, a safe and secure border cannot be achieved through civilian vigilantism. (It's a good start until the crooked politicians are thrown out and the fence is built)

    8. Coordinated efforts by federal, state and local law enforcement officials are necessary to monitor the activities of civilian border patrols and extremist groups in order to maintain safety and public order and to protect human and civil rights. " (Actually, Coordinated efforts by federal, state and local law enforcement officials are necessary to monitor the unlawful tresspassing past our borders by nationals, primarily from Mexico and Central and South America, and/or any illegal aliens from any land who infiltrate and use our resources, rob our people of jobs, cheat the system, use false documents, and "demand" rights that are not theirs.)

    9. Anti-immigration and anti-Latino rhetoric ignores the valuable economic and cultural contributions these groups have made to American society for hundreds of years. (Anti-illegal is not anti-immigration and truth is not "rhetoric".Thanks for the valuable contributions, whatever they are. Now go home and contribute to the "culture" and economy in your own land.)

    DECLARATION
Based on the foregoing recitals, the Pacific Southwest Region of the Anti-Defamation League, together with the undersigned concerned members of the Los Angeles community, call upon local, state and federal government officials to do the following, when crafting immigration policy which affects the US-Mexico border: (oh, so this document is only concerned with Mexican illegals who sneak across, not legal immigrants from Mexico and other countries ? Why does that not surprise us? Pretty xenophobic of you. )

    1. Recognize and protect the basic human rights of immigrants. (you mean Mexican illegals again. Most of whom have it pretty soft in the USA due to our natural generosity, and our government's turning a blind eye)
    2. Support human rights and the humane treatment of undocumented persons as part of the tradition of fighting intolerance and bias. (We support and support and support, and are getting tired of supporting "undocumented persons".)
    3. Recognize and publicly denounce xenophobia and anti-immigrant bias as having no place in United States’ immigration policy.
(Americans are not xenophobes, we are proud of the diverse heritages here, versus the mostly singular ethnic group in Mexico. And there's no anti-immigrant bias here , we welcome legal immigrants and always have. To find anti-immigrant bias take a look at how Mexicans treat immigrants.)
    4. Monitor and respond to extremist groups who advocate bigotry or racism, armed citizen response, vigilantism in any form, violence or any other tactic that subverts the democratic process. (you mean like La Raza and Mecha don't you? And "democratic process" must refer to the "democracy" so evident in Mexico, which its own people are anxious to leave behind)
    5. Hold to the highest standards of human rights and dignity all law enforcement and judicial processes that relate to deportation, detention and immigration status. (Amen to that!)
    6. Recognize the need for a safe and secure United States. (We second that motion! Get rid of crooked politicians, local, state or federal. Deport illegal aliens now. Build the Fence!)

Dated: December 13, 2006 (Signed: by a long list of cowardly boot-licking traitorous groups who will no longer get my support in any fashion)
