The Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform (ILIR), in coordination with the Coalition for Comprehensive Immigration Reform, is mounting a National Phone-In Day, on March 28 & 29 to urge Congress to pass the STRIVE Act amnesty (H.R. 1645). Let's drown them out with our own phone calls!

You have done a great job countering every move that the ILIR has made so far - including a blitz of phoning against the 4,000 pro-amnesty Irish lobbyists that descended on Washington earlier this month. Don't stop now!

Take Action

Let your members of Congress know that this effort is an insult to Irish-Americans, who overwhelmingly favor the rule of law and lower immigration levels.

This is a great opportunity to impress upon staffers that Americans object to illegal immigration for reasons other than ethnicity. It doesn't matter where illegal aliens are from - the point is that illegal immigration is wrong and bad for the country.

These radical open-border Irish lobbyists have been one of the most influential and troublesome over the last 20 years. For example, the Irish lobbyists were the ones that forced the visa lottery into law. At first, the lottery was intended primarily to benefit the Irish, but now it disproportionately benefits people from terrorist-sponsoring countries.

The bill would include an amnesty for every illegal alien who has been here since June 1, 2006; authorize in-state tuition for illegal aliens at public colleges and universities; and add at least 400,000 foreign workers to the already flooded labor pool every year.

H.R. 1645 is just one of several amnesties that we are fighting, along with Sen. Kennedy's proposal (not yet introduced) and the White House's amnesty (which has been developed during secret meetings with Senate Republicans). To learn more about these, click here.

The ILIR owns Sen. Kennedy. That is why I suspect he is such a huge pusher for criminal alien amnesty and other benefits to illegals. He knows that taking care of all criminal aliens will include the Irish that are here illegally. In other words, to help the illegal immigrant Irish, he must help all illegal immigrants.

As little as twenty years ago the Irish worker suffered from living in one of the poorest economies in Western Europe. Since that time their economy has greatly improved to the point where incomes are on a par with the United States. It was through having their old infrastructure replaced with funding from other countries. Also on the individual level students who had difficulty finding work stayed active in academics.

The Irish are now in a rare situation in that there are more Americans who want to go work in Ireland than there are Irish wanting to work here. In an effort to legalize 40000 Irish illegal aliens the ILIR would have us grant anmnesty for 12 to 20 million illegal aliens.

They are going to continue to try and force Amnesty down our throats using any side issues they can to ram it through.
Be careful of any legislation right now. It is all a back door attempt to ram through the SPP.

The Flake/Gutierrez bill is a thinly veiled SPP legislation masquarding as immigration reform. We are being had! Until I saw President Bush on the news in Latin America with The leaders of Mexico and Canada, I had no idea that there was an SPP and I am a news junkie. How could it so completly have escaped my attention? I guess because there is little room for real news when all we get is non-stop Britney and Anna Nicole. Our news is no better now then the Enquirer or the Star and it is unfortunate. I have recently found Lou Dobbs and I am finally getting some real news.
