Ken Hughes

Ken Hughes is a political junkie who believes in the Reagan conservative doctrine. Ken has submitted articles to a number of web sites for the past four years. It isn’t his intention to make converts only to inform the uninformed then let the reader decide for themselves. It isn’t important whose right or wrong only that people think about what’s right and what’s wrong.

Amnesty or not America will pay a high price if the current immigration bill is past. The American people don’t want a feel-good immigration bill passed in the dark of night. The current immigration legislation doesn’t address the mood of the country, it’s grease for politicians to slide into congress on in the 2008 elections. How many congressmen and women will be sent packing for supporting this ridiculous legislation, not enough?

Is there anyone who actually believes legislation sponsored by the likes of Ted Kennedy and the minority republicans can push a bill opposed by the majority of democrats through the senate? Both Republicans and Democrats are playing games and who will be the winners, the lobbyists as usual. This immigration bill has the smell of special interest all over it.

Last year congress authorized building 800 miles of fence over a 2,000 mile [plus] boarder. Very little was built and what was built was built by illegal Mexican workers, so much for congressional oversight. Boarder control didn’t work last year and with the current purposed legislation it won’t work this year or next. As John Gibson, Fox News [paraphrased] said “This legislation is like running down the road throwing pork chops over your shoulder while being chased by a wolf.â€
