Kate, PRICE and WATT are the ONLY US Reps from NC with a worse record on illegal immigration than ETHERIDGE.

Cant judge Mr. Price by the bills he sponsors. Judge him by how he votes and who pays for his campaigns. He has a pocket of folk that think like him in orange and durham county. The others arent sure enough of what he stands for, but vote for him anyway because he is usually running against some big bad republican that just must be worse.

Worst part to me is that the local press wont give his opponent a forum to make it a fair campaign. Oh well, good thing most people think the press is fair. Especially when it comes to immigration.

I agree - the voting is the most important. But the legislation sponsored also shows initiative and priorities, or lack thereof. In Price's case, he has voted horribly on all imigration bills, including voting against HB 4437, the fence bill and most other border enforcement measures. He states that he supports the Senate 2611 amnesty bill even though he "does not support amnesty". He has largely been an obstructionist when it comes to securing our borders and taking any real productive approachs to deal with illegal immigration.

The 15 pieces of legislation he has sponsored over the past 2 years amount mostly to putting forth resolutions to congratulate one group or another - what a waste of Congressional time and our tax dollars! I just can't see paying him or other do-nothing politicians an average of $165,000 per year for such non-productive measures.

Kate -- My sarcasm isnt always obvious. I should have said you cant judge his bills because he isnt the type of personality to initiate anything. He follows party line. He even uses party slides in his town hall meetings. When he debated Acuff earlier this week (you can see the debate on Acuff's website), he read from a script that was mostly party notes. Will be interesting to see him and Acuff debate at UNC monday night (again you can see a link for info about the debate on Acuff's website).

Most of them were at one time, but some have been in Congress so long that they've probably left a career far behind. Price has been in Congress 18 years.....he needs to be gone along with most incumbents. They spent about 3 months in this past year actively legislating. They do what they want, what's best for themselves, and ignore their constituents and what's best for this country. And we pay them $165K for this?

Went to the Price debate last night. He says he cant get anything done because Bush keeps him from getting anything done. Once the democrats gain control of the house he will be in a prominant position in the department of homeland security committee and will finally be able to implement his policies of amnesty and increased immigration. Havent seen a video of the debate yet, but will post when I do.

I sent Price an e-mail asking for his position on illegal immigration and gave him my thoughts on the subject. Never got an answer from him!
    Vote Steve Acuff!!!
