A new Public Policy poll shows Donald Trump with a 15 point lead in Utah — a state where the Republican nominee previously had an “amazingly bad” showing, according to the Washington Post in June.

Trump is ahead of Clinton, 39 percent to 24 percent. Libertarian Gary Johnson raked in 12 percent.

The New Yorker’s lead comes after anti-Trump conservative candidate Evan McMullin, who was born in Utah, joined the race. McMullin reached nine percent in the poll.

“There’s not much of a chance that Utah’s actually going to go Democratic this year,” stated Public Policy Polling president Dean Debnam. “But with Gary Johnson in double digits and Evan McMullin almost there, there is a pretty decent chance that Donald Trump will end up winning the state with less than 50% of the vote.”

Although Trump is leading Clinton, 61 percent of voters in Utah view him unfavorably, but that’s to Clinton’s larger unfavorable mark at 72 percent.

According to the poll, if Utah wasn’t so populated with Mormons, it would be a blue state, as Clinton has a 16 point lead over Trump with non-Mormons.

“Fifty-six percent of Mormons dislike Trump, but an overwhelming 84 percent have an unfavorable opinion of Clinton. Just 12 percent of Mormons would vote for Clinton, tying her with Johnson and putting her behind McMullin at 13 percent and Trump at 44 percent,” reports the Salt Lake Tribune.

The Public Policy poll questioned 1,018 likely voters from Aug. 19 to Aug. 21. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percent.
