Donald Trump: Let DACA Recipients Stay; Not Amnesty

President Donald Trump argued that allowing DACA recipients to stay in the United States would not be amnesty.

“We’re looking at allowing people to stay here,” Trump said to reporters in Florida on Thursday.

He insisted that his deal with Democrats on DACA recipients would not be amnesty.

“We’re not looking at citizenship, we’re not looking at amnesty,” Trump said.

On Air Force One however, a White House spokesperson confirmed that “legal citizenship over a period of time” for DACA recipients would likely be part of a deal. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi insisted that the plan would offer them a “path to citizenship.”

Trump said that he spoke with Paul Ryan about his plan asserting that the speaker was “on board” with the idea for a deal with DACA.

“We’re talking about taking care of people, people that were brought here, people that have done a good job and were not brought here of their own volition,” he said, referring to illegal immigrants brought to the United States as children.

He clarified that he did not have a deal with Democrats yet on DACA, but indicated that they were close to an agreement.


Trump also reassured his supporters that he was still committed to building the wall on the Southern border, despite telling reporters that funding could be pushed back to a later date.


“The wall to me is vital,” he said, noting that it would have to be funded soon for any deal with Democrats.


“We have to have an understanding that whether it’s in the budget or some other vehicle, in a fairly short period of time,” he said. “The wall will be funded. Otherwise, we’re not doing any deal.”

The original DREAMER Act did too.

I think Trump must agree with the Democrats/Liberals that his supporters are all dumb.

He's playing word games, taking a specific meaning of amnesty and attempting to qualify it with short-term acquisition of citizenship:

First, "allowing people to stay here", means not enforcing immigration law for people who are breaking it.

Of course this is an amnesty and of course it will lead to citizenship.

am-nes-ty, n. an official pardon for people who have been convicted of political offenses.
par-don, n. the action of forgiving or being forgiven for an error or offense.

Whether it includes citizenship or not, it is amnesty. But it will eventually lead to citizenship.

Then he plays the emotional and faux corruption of blood arguments:

This is wrong. Foreign nationals illegally entered this country with their foreign national children and began occupying it (necessarily requiring the commission of other crimes) while Democrats pushed the DREAM Act. But they failed to pass it in 2001, 2006 (mccain-kennedy), 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011, so Obama overruled We, the People, and did it by executive memo with Napolitano in 2012 anyway. Then he doubled down and did DAPA to legalize the illegal alien parents.

We're talking about a lot of people who rushed into our country on the promise of amnesty, many arriving AFTER the commission of an unconstitutional act by King Barry Obama, and who have taken money and opportunities from American citizens, particularly our most vulnerable young people, siphoned money from our economy in remittances, created housing and infrastructure pressures, and committed a variety of crimes. And this when it isn't a straight-up case of fraud. How do you prove their stories?

Trump is lost.

It's falling for the meme of "no fault of their own". For some reason many members of Congress and the public seem lost of what this phrase means. In law in the United States, this has no meaning, no validity, no bearing at all, and people may not realize that.

For example, in the United States, if you are in a car, even as a juvenile or minor, a "child", with your parents, relatives or friends, and one of them walks into a 7/11, kills the clerk and robs the cash register, you, the minor and everyone else in the vehicle is charged with felony murder, whether you were an active accomplice or not, whether you even knew what the other person was going to do, you are still charged the same as the shooter. They will be sentenced differently than the shooter, but they will still be charged and convicted under US law.

So this whole concept of "through no fault of their own" has absolutely no place, no role, no significance, no meaning, no bearing, no relevancy of any kind on enforcement of US law including US immigration law. Until members of the Executive Branch and Congress want to reverse felony murder laws on US citizens, then these "through no fault of their own" excusers for illegal alien need to sit down and shut up, including this President or any other President. It's a false and fraudulent meme, a charade designed by expensive public relations firms paid with drug cartel money to maintain and grow a large foreign population inside the United States that is loyal to the cartels.

Allowing illegal aliens to stay in America by changing our laws to accomodate millions of them is Amnesty!

Yes, any form of legalization, regardless of whether it provides a path to citizenship or not, is still amnesty!

This year they will let them stay.

Next year they will give them citizenship.
