    Don't Despair People

The GOP has (at best) always been an imperfect vehicle for the concerns of traditional patriotic Americans. I'd like to know, between all the Republican Presidents we have voted in over the last 3-4 decades (from Nixon to Reagan to Bush I and now Bush II) has any progress ever been made in rolling back the leftist reforms of the 50s, 60s, and 70s? When have they ever secured the border and safeguarded our nation? Why are we securing Middle Eastern borders halfway across this globe whilst leaving our own wide open to the dregs of Latin America?

I am ready for the GOP to be disbanded and for a new truly patriotic party to be formed that seeks to protect the influence and welfare of traditional Americans. May the GOP go the way of the Whigs insofar as I'm concerned.

But make no mistake about it, we are in the midst of a war for a country our fathers built. Unfortunately, for us, our opposition is very well organized and contains critical power players in the highest offices of government and the media. They have been able to either confuse or outright fool tens of millions of Americans with propaganda laced television, public schools, public radio, and movies so as to make us ashamed of our collective heritage and control us through varied guilt complexes.

Truth be told we are currently losing this war, but tomorrow is another day. We should still hold out hope for Romney in the interim (of course) but we should also look towards the future and be brave enough to chart new courses of political expression.

America is being hollowed out in every way. And, as the economy continues to slow down, as the Latin American peasants continue to invade, and as the media continues to propagandize you can expect social unrest to dramatically increase over the next decade. The American "people" (to the extent that phrase retains any meaning) will be in for a big surprise (to put it mildly), and we have to be ready to take advantage of the situation by communicating the truth of what's happened to our once great nation.

I would advise everyone to keep an open mind and an optimistic spirit.

    GREAT POST!!

I agree. I have been saying this for a year here. The GOP never cared about us. I hope that is apparent today. OBL McCain, OBL Bush twice, NWO Bush Sr., 86 amnesty Reagan.

That's a pretty f-ed up track record. It is definitely time for a new party. I have been predicting the fall of the GOP for quite a while. They will go the way of their Whig and Federalist predecessors.

    Vote Constitution Party.
Serve Bush with his letter of resignation.

Our government is influenced by "experts" who are usually from academia and law schools. Economic experts are, at this point, looking at gross statistics about business formation, employment, borrowing, investment---and all of it pointing to the holy grail of "economic growth."

An economy can grow with imported labor, just as well as domestic labor. So unless the economists start looking at the impacts to the domestic workforce they don't provide the right information to the politicians and decision makers. But they should. It's completely within the realm of economic science to examine what's happening to the domestic workforce. I.e. Are their incomes growing? Decreasing? Spending more on raising children or less? Saving money? Fully employed? etc. And we are getting slaughtered. But what makes this complicated is that we have a large number of private agendas--ready to twist information for their purposes--advocating open borders.

We need some "experts" who will stand up for the American middle class that is being whipsawn and dismemembered by our current politicians. The people on this board have been a lot better informed than the experts who have been advising our Congress. They see their own quality of life deteriorating and that is something that can be economically measured.

I have a feeling that Newt Gingrich may be laying a platform for a third party. His group American Solutions is a broad based coalition of Republicans, Independents, and Democrats working on SOLUTIONS to the country's problems. If we can come together on agreement on specific issues and solidify that platform, I believe it may generate that party. Just a thought.

We sat in on a tele-conferencing meeting with them when Iowa was at primary and Newt took call after call from ordinary citizens about their concerns during this election. That in it self is unique. He didn't rush them and gave them time to talk.

Very interesting question. The situation we face in modern America is what Aristotle called a 'revolution within the form'. Not a word of the Constitution has changed, but who could honestly claim this is the same country that it was two hundred or even sixty years ago? How could this be? It is the interpretation of our laws and national priorities that have changed.

I believe that small ideas flow from big ideas, and that by fighting and disproving larger philosophies, you effectively cut the weed off at the root. I've come to believe that the opposing Big Idea for us is the strong, centralized government. Think about it: how much woe have our senators and representatives caused for the average American? Comprehensive immigration reform, racial quotas, the political pressure groups...the list goes on.

The New Deal marked a new role for government, and our political leaders began to decide what was in the "best interests" for the people. At first this was aimed toward arguably good purposes, like lifting the country out of the Depression. Over time the government has assumed an attitude of 'We know best', as we all learned firsthand in the amnesty deal last summer. It is the same attitude that has transformed Americans from free individuals into employees.

Interesting (but long) article that touches on economics, government, and culture:

    The March
    http://www.mises.org/story/2829

Now from the housetops may be heard voices of fear and warning, saying to the people, "Beware! You are marching toward Socialism. The declivity is there!" The people scoff or stop their ears, and the march continues. Then the voice of despair may be heard saying, "We are lost. The people do not care. Nor will they hear the truth."

It is evident that the people do not believe it; and this, despite anything the voice of despair may say to the contrary, is owing partly to the fact that socialism is the wrong word.

I wonder if we could find a sympathetic media voice that would report our immigration problem, criminal politician problem, and do it loudly and repeatedly.

I was thinking some other country that faces these same problems. England and the BBC, or France, Italy, Australia??

Our media is owned by the politicians and does not fairly report from national to local level.

This needs to be exposed around the world until it is an embarassement.

I'm pretty sure the entire Western World has liberal media. You'd be amazed how much their problems mirror our own. Its like a world-wide conspiracy or something
