There is a revived effort in congress to pass bits and pieces of the Senate's immigration reform bill that died last June. Democratic lawmakers in Washington D.C. could attach two amendments to the Defense Authorization Bill this week, legalizing millions of illegal aliens. We will be joined by Senator Jeff Sessions (R-Alabama) who is upset by the backdoor politics being played by his colleagues as these amendments are being attached to unrelated legislation.

Tonight, we’ll begin with startling new charges of a cover-up
inside the Bush administration to protect the White House from
embarrassment. Congressional Democrats say the State
Department's Inspector General failed to investigate serious
misconduct by government officials in Iraq. We’ll have that
shocking story tonight.

Piece by piece, members of Congress have tried to revive the
Senate’s failed immigration bill. Meanwhile, states across the
nation are stepping up where the federal government is not to
pass their own local laws to combat illegal immigration. We’ll
report on laws that target illegal immigration taking effect
this week in Arizona, as well as Maricopa County Sheriff Joe
Arpaio’s latest approach to stop the flow of illegal aliens
across the state’s border with Mexico.

More than just a drug problem: we’re following the Senate
hearing on trafficking of methamphetamine from Mexico across
our Southern border.

And the United States is grappling with a growing crisis of
imported product safety. On the eve of landmark House hearings
on the subject, we take a looks at the result of corporate
America’s love affair with globalization that has meant
far-flung food and product chains, breaches in security, and
vulnerable consumers. It’s the result of years of companies
lobbying to get government out of the way. Now incredibly, even
the industry is now asking for MORE federal scrutiny and
regulations for imports.

I am so glad Lou is talking about this tonight. This is sooo much more important than the OJ Simpson nonsense. We have to spread the word -- fast -- on how flawed the misnamed "Dream Act" chain migration amnesty scheme is.
