DREAM act paper
hi,
im trying to write a paper about the DREAM act for my English class. Iwas wondering if some of you guys can give me some of your strongest arguments against it. the search didnt really help much, there were dream act articles but none of the people had really strong arguments. Most of them went like this: they are illegal., they shouldnt be here. ok thats one but i need more.
thanks

Read some books you can get from the library on this issue and any other that you need to write papers on. Research, its something that you need to learn......researching stuff, especially about things affecting your country.
Not going to give you an easy out.........oh by the way, what grade are you in since your language skills need to be drastically improved, or to give you the benefit of doubt, maybe you just can't type well.

I am just stuck because they are here illegally.
Not sure why we should reward them ?Illegal, or unlawful, is used to describe something that is prohibited or not authorized by law

ok, i probably should have post what i had in the beginning, sorry. So far i have.
- they shouldnt receive any benefits, becuase they are illegal immigrants.
- they have already received k-12 education, that is enough.
- once a path of citizenship is granted for the son/daughter, the whole family will have access to citizenship.
- they will take seats in a university that Americans should have the right to have before someone that came here illegally.
thanks again

THOSE ARE ALL OF THEM AS FAR AS I CAN TELL. SO YOU NEED 8 PAGES. YOU NEED TO EXPAND ON EACH ARGUMENT FOR 2 PAGES. AND I WOULD START BY ARGUING HOW IT WILL NEGATIVELY AFFECT DISPLACED STUDENTS AND THEIR FUTURE FAMILIES. HOW SOME MAY END UP COLLECTING BENFITS INSTEAD OF WORKING GOOD JOBS IN THE FUTURE. THIS WILL COST THE COUNTRY MONEY. INSTEAD, AMERICAN STUDENTS COULD CONTRIBUTE TO THE COUNTRY. ILLEGALS SHOULD BE ASKED TO LEAVE TO PRESERVE RESOURCES FOR THOSE HERE LEGALLY.

Rewarding Dream Act Recipients is rewarding their parents who broke our immigration laws.
Citizens are tired of their tax money going to educate children of Illegal Aliens.K thru 12 cost approx. 100 THOUSAND dolars per Illegal yet they think they deserve even more.
Mexico has one of the best colleges in the world and tuition is either free or very cheap. So go home Mexican citizens, get your college degree and apply for US citizenship like every other LEGAL immigrant.
Illegals are so intent on becoming US citizens they refuse to look at other options, other countries, they seem to have tunnel vision and they are hurting themselves, their lives are passing them by while they focus on one thing becoming a US citizen
BTW some of these kids home countries have good opportunities for educated citizens and their countries are quite beautiful.

OK, heres one for your little report, which 8 pages really should not be that hard on such a contraversial project report, with so many statistic's out there on the subject of the cost to Americans.
I'll take the subject of chain migration...say you come from a family of 5 children and 2 uneducated parents whom after years here, the parents still don't speak English( more than likely).
Of the 5 children one completed 12 years of education and wants to go to college to better his/her life, you give this one child citizenship, (hense) the rest of the familly evendually receives citizenship.
The other 4 children are drop outs, (hence) end up on social services of many kinds from subsidized housing to food stamps.
These 4 children have 5 children each, now you have 20 who do not complete high school and eventually end up on social sevices, the American Taxpayer will furnish not only k1 to ? for their education, we will pay for thier health care , and all of the above mentioned services.
Then you take those 20 children they each have 5 children maybe one or two graduate the rest are uneducated and so continues the same process except there are now more than 120 children. This is only one family.
SEE THE POINT AND THE PROBLEM WITH CHAIN MIGRATION!
Where do you draw the line... When exactly is this going to break the back of every American taxpayer.
Look what this has done to Calif. alone ( Just one state) More than 80 hospitals closed and more on the way.
You see illegals complain because they really don't care what they are costing us, we care and we the middle class are sick of paying for the poor people that their own countrys should be supporting and taking care of.
America has enough of its own poor and disabled to take care of.
Hope this helps your report and word gets out that "WE THE PEOPLE "citizens of the United States are sick of it( Nothing personal you understand against any one race but we need only citizens who can care for themselves and their family's. Then we will still have some money left to help the poor all around the world. Please support ALIPAC's fight to save American Jobs & Lives from illegal immigration by joining our free Activists E-Mail Alerts (CLICK HERE)

You can add this to your list: Being a lawful society, preference should be given to the MILLIONS OF LEGAL APPLICANTS WHO ARE WAITING IN THEIR HOME COUNTRIES FOR THEIR APPROVAL. They have followed our immigration laws but due to the understaffed Immigrations office, their applications have been languishing for as long as 20 years. The Dreamies are here in the US, already reaping the good life of America. However, their parents brought them over ILLEGALLY. They do not have legal permission to be here. So what is fair? To give the Dreamies amnesty and neglect the legal applicants? That is not how America works. America values and respects the rule of law. America wants all illegals to return to their home countries and apply the way all the other legal applicants have, and if it means waiting 20 years, well....that is equality, no?
duhasstmich, maybe you should take a look at the Big Picture, which is immigrations as a whole, then compare your pros and cons based on that. The Big Picture is that every country has yearly immigrations quotas. This is necessary in order to manage the economy and limited resources, FOR THE BENEFIT OF ITS CITIZENS. Hypothetically, if the US has determined we need 100 immigrants a year, and 500 show up, it tips the balance of progress and wreaks havoc on local resources, such as schools, hospitals, social services, employment, infrastructure, to name a few. You see?
BTW, what arguments do you have on "the other side" that you think are more compelling than our arguments?PRESS 1 FOR ENGLISH. PRESS 2 FOR DEPORTATION.
Illegal immigration is costing American hospitals billions of...
