Thread: Drudge Report and illegal immigration news

A few days ago (June 16), someone mounted the following story as the top feature story on www.drudgereport.com As everyone knows, the Drudge is one of the most watched websites in America. A short time later this story was pulled down and instead of going lower on the page as most stories are moved.

This story was completely erased and replaced with a story about the Patriot Act.

200 illegal aliens arrested.

Today, the Drudge Report had its top story about the illegal aliens in the Nuclear facility. I do not know how long the story was up, but it has been completely removed from the page without going into the que below as most stories do.

A search of the Recent Headlines shows that the story was added today, Monday, but it does not remain on the homepage screen yet all other stories listed do.

The Drudge Report rarely reports on illegal immigration and the last two big stories they put up were pulled down and tucked away in short order.

Very observant. I wonder why, maybe he just kicks back and pulls them at random, to put new stuff up. He doesn't actually write all those stories he links.

No, it is more nefarious than that. As William points out, The Drudge Report is THE news website out there. With that visibility comes advertising. Some of those advitisers don't want him reporting on this issue simply because his site is so visible and their intentions are dubious at best. When you add that to the things that have been said about Matt personally, it is not hard to figure out what the real deal is. This is one that you will have to read between the lines on.

Everything is done for a reason. Getting to the truth rather than an excuse is always the challenge.
